Waving Goodbye to the America We All Knew and Loved

My generation believed in the United States.  We believed in its respect for the individual, in its Constitution, in its status as the only benign superpower in history.  In other words, we believed in American exceptionalism.  "Traditional American values are worthy of a passionate defense," said author and TV commentator Monica Crowley.  Referring to these values as "the American project," Charles Murray, author of Coming Apart, defined it as the continuing effort "to demonstrate that human beings can be left free as individuals and families to live their lives as they see fit, coming together voluntarily to solve their joint problems."  If you boil it down, what makes our society unique in world history is the respect accorded the rights of the individual citizen.  The Constitution was written as a restraint on the power of the government to interfere in our lives.

All that seems to be changing.  As we move into 2021, to borrow from Shakespeare, something is rotten.  It is difficult to pinpoint the origin or the exact nature of America's disintegration.  It developed a head of steam when a man who hates this country, Barack Obama, was elected president.  For eight years, we watched his concentrated assault on our values. Obama and his fellow Democrats have introduced some new concepts into our vernacular: democratic socialism, identity politics, social justice, diversity, inclusion, political correctness, Critical Race Theory, cancel culture.  They were intended for the express purpose of destroying everything that is laudable about America.

If you wanted to destroy the USA, how would you do it?  "America will never be destroyed from the outside," said Abraham Lincoln.  "If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves."  Soviet premier Nikita Khrushchev said the same thing in 1961.  "We do not have to destroy America with missiles," he said.  "America will destroy itself from within."  Were they correct?

I remember when partisans of all types in America said things like 'I disagree with what you say but will defend to the death your right to say it'.

Man, how far we are from that today.

Yes, they were correct and spot-on, sadly.  The Democrats, America's enemy within, have seemingly won it all, unfortunately.  By their usual tactic of cheating, treachery, lying and threatening.

The Obama era will be remembered as the beginning of the end of America as founded.   

The Trump era will be remembered as the era of the conflict that always comes before a successful leftist takeover.  But also as the era of liars (leftist media), cheaters (Democrats),  @ssholes (mask Nazis), thugs (Antifa brown shirts), bullies (BLM Marxists), traitors (RINOs), hypocrites (leftist elitists) and wussies (Republicans).

And of course, the Democrats, America's enemy within, embody all of those….liars, cheaters, @ssholes, thugs, bullies, traitors and hypocrites.   How can a nation survive a populace made up of characters like this?   It can't.   It won't.

No quarter given to the enemy within...ever.

You can vote your way into socialism, but you have to shoot your way out of it.

In every day America, even back what I remember back in turbulent 1968, was much more civil and respectful in political discussions. 

Line are now much more divided. 
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

Hate to be the one to break this to yall, but the United States of America as founded ended 160 odd years ago! The remnant that remained, whatever one wishes to call it,  was taken down by the Clintons, Bushes, and Obamas.

I'll simply defer to D'Souza's movie; "America Imagine the World Without Her"

Great movie and if you haven't seen it ... now is a good time to see it or rewatch it.  D'Souza had it right.

Perhaps an even bigger questions is, what is the world going to do without her?

The global take over is just around the corner ... however, much of the free world is so intertwined with our country, that the world is going to suffer as well.

How do we move forward??? I've said this before, but IT IS time to come together, put our heads together, and come up with ideas so that we can move forward.

Now is NOT the time to simply sit back with anger and just passively let the leftists continue on.  They've crushed conservatism, our complete judicial, legal and justice system.

I believe it started with LBJ's push for his Great Society; we saw some uprisings but he was quick to extinquish them. Yes, with H. Bush he was the main catalyst to selling us down the river with his drafting of NAFTA, one of the largest detriments to our country, signed into law by Clinton. Clinton demonstrated to the world and to the citizens of this country that the office of the presidency needed no integrity and lying to the people not only became accepted, but then became the way of the liberal DEMS and the DEMS became more powerful because they consequently were never held accountable. "W" was afraid of his owns shadow and continued his pappy's global push and Bammy carried the torch of complete transformation.

So true....   It's going to be a wild ride.  I just read about the THOUSANDS waiting to come in to the US when Biden opens the borders.  Remove the wall from El Paso and see how that works out for you.  Idiots.....

When did the USA start going downhill?

A friend sent me an email in December, with similar questions.
But my answers and reasons are markedly different from other posters above.
Here's the email (his questions in blue):

The forces behind the change:
- The Frankfurt School
- Antonio Gramsci
- The "long march" through the institutions
- "Critical theory" -- destroy everything "western"

- Leftist media (American "pravda")
- Increasing infiltration of CCP (Chinese communist party) into America

The question no longer is "how do we stop America's lurch towards communism?"
Instead, it's now, "how do tradtional-minded Americans survive in the socialist/communist America that is coming...?"

Bigun, on the mark per usual.
The core of our Founding Fathers (Jefferson, Madson, Monroe and more.....) were Southerners,
unfortunately badly tarred by the slavery of their Plantation Class.
While the Civil War ruined that Economic Class, more perniciously, it severely damaged the heritage/legacy of our Southern Founders.
As a culture/society, we are far worse off for that fateful event in history.

Yesterday was the perfectly sh*tty ending to it.

Living in CA my life won't immediately change, but I feel badly for those in parts of the country that still resemble the nation I grew up in.

Short perspective.  The beginning of the demise of America as founded was April 8, 1913, when the 17th Amendment was ratified denying the states representation in Congress and turning us into a democracy, rather than a proper republic.  The process was accelerated by the courts with Wickard v. Filburn in 1942, which turned the Commerce Clause into a justification for Federal law intruding into every facet of economic activity (and some non-economic spheres) on the plea that they "affect interstate commerce", and Reyolds v. Sims that destroyed the republican constitutions of most states by forbidding them from following the wisdom Founders showed in establishing the Senate, and requiring all state legislative chambers be apportioned on the basis of population, rather than having an upper house elected by, say, county.
And when they behead your own people in the wars which are to come, then you will know what this was all about.
