TODAY VENEZUELA – The wood stove that Jesús Cova and his wife Luisa Cortez used to make soups on weekends with friends is now the only thing they have to cook due to the lack of cooking gas, an increasingly widespread evil in Venezuela, where there was no much to celebrate at Christmas and the New Year’s.

Although preparing meals with charcoal or wood was a common practice in moments of relaxation, the lack of cooking gas made this pastime custom now the only alternative for many Venezuelans.

“The small gas stove is already full of cobwebs and dust, since May without gas,” says Cova in his small farm in Las Violetas, a hamlet located in the state of Sucre (northeast), about nine hours from Caracas by land.

“Even to make coffee, we have to be attached to a stove,” he explains.

I'd start investing heavily in gas masks.   Perhaps we all should.  With the rats in control, it's going to get awfully stinky everywhere.

I'd worry about the practice by peoples much closer to us, you know the peoples that the socialists want to open our borders to.

CA is already experiencing a lack of water due of their own failure to open their eyes as to who's inflicting that pain. 

I foresee that we will be heavily taxed for any consumption of energy and water and it will be heavily regulated.  If you are lucky to be reliant on solar power Uncle Sam will figure out a way to tax it.  If you have a well, they will also find a way to tax it. No one is going to escape what's going to be inflicted on all of us unless you are a member of the elite country club.

Either people start pushing back hard or we will become enslaved to the socialists/communist regime that will be installed in Jan.

Funny ain't it, what simple things there are that provide for independence...

Here it is much the same. A dang good wood stove used to be 500 bucks... You could build a double barrel stove and line it with firebrick and be way cheaper still. But in a lot of places, regulation has choked that all off. You may still be able to get a wood stove, but you will pay through the nose for it.

Even here, insurance and permits are used to dissuade wood stove use.

It ain't about environment. It's about keeping your damn nose on the grindstone, and uncle getting his rake... Can't have folks building a barrel stove out of a free boiler or a couple 55gal drums... Ain't no nick for uncle in that. Can't have em running off to the forest and hauling out dead standing wood for nothing and being able to heat for nearly free.

Poor suckers. Same dang thing goes for gardens. Same for water and garbage... The beast requires its pound of flesh - And while what it desires is that action, what that translates into is overweening power over YOU.

I live on so much less than all y'all, and the way that's done is being able to step away. Them conveniences are a stone around the neck.

I doubt the Ca "Maximum Leader" will allow that to happen because that would reflect badly on "the collective" that he rules over.
