Fox's Bret Baier presses Hawley on election challenge: 'Are you trying to say as of January 20 Trump will be president?'
By Dominick Mastrangelo - 01/05/21 07:39 AM EST

Fox News anchor Bret Baier pressed Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) late Monday to explicitly say he believes President Trump will remain in the White House despite his defeat in the November election.

"I want to pin you down on what you're trying to do," Baier told Hawley during the Republican's appearance on the network. "Are you trying to say as of January 20 Trump will be president?"

Hawley responded: "That depends on what happens on Wednesday, that's why we have the debate."

"No it doesn't," Baier interjected. "The states, by the Constitution, say they certify the election, they did certify it. By the Constitution, Congress does not have the right to overturn the certification, at least as most experts read it."

This is all political theater,  demanded by Trump because his ego cannot abide the reality that he, and he alone, was repudiated by the voters.

The price of the man's selfishness will be revealed when the voters in Georgia express their disgust and hand the Senate to the Democrats.   The silver lining will be that Trump will finally be consigned to political oblivion.

Stop lying.   You've been presented with facts showing how many more votes Trump got this election vs. in 2016.  You've also been presented with facts re: the rampant election fraud that occurred (and is still no doubt occurring in Georgia).   Yet still you bleat and lie and propagandize.

That must be why Loefler and Perdue are flying with Trump to his GA rallies and appearing on stage with him.

In November the GOP did great while Trump lost. You said this was because voters singled Trump out as the object of their distain personally while they rewarded the GOP. Why won't they do the same in GA?

If the GOP loses today you'll be back here blaming Trump. If they win you'll be back here saying they won in spite of him.

IMO you are comic relief @Jazzhead

Skeeter,  I will blame him if we lose and give him credit if we win.    It is all about results.

Why didn't you credit him for the results on 11/3?

I wonder if this is some insanely genius way for Trump to boost turnout for the Georgia election? If so, genius.

Like I said,  if this works I will give him credit.   But it is telling that the Dems aren't rallying their side by appealing for help for Biden in the Senate.   They are getting their voters out by urging the final repudiation of Trump.    This is yet another election based on the bipartisan consensus that the only issue that matters is yea or nay on the ego and political cynicism of Donald Trump.

In fact,  I did.   There is no question that his policies, most of them, are political winners.    It is the madness of the man himself that cost him reelection when so many other results went the GOP's way.

And that madness has been on full display since the election.
