The idea of a new vaccine being developed in less than a year was laughable before last year, before the COVID pandemic, before President Donald Trump. But it became a reality, an unmitigated success. You’d think that would be cause for celebration, in and of itself, right? And while Operation Warp Speed has received some plaudits, leftists can’t bring themselves to give it the full credit the Herculean effort deserves. And now, as the injections are going into people’s arms, the left has found a new way to downplay the Trump administration’s success: the injections themselves.

How many stories have you seen detailing slow injection processes? “As the Virus Spikes, Vaccine Distribution Is One More Hurdle for States,” is how The New York Times put it. Out of Philadelphia comes the headline, “COVID vaccinations taking longer than expected, doctors call for more national oversight.”

Democrat-run states spent weeks trying to figure out how to distribute the vaccine, cooking up a racist scheme to pander to voting blocs favorable to them in the name of “fairness,” in spite of the fact that the biggest preexisting condition and co-morbidity for COVID 19 is advanced age.

A person curious about how various states are doing as far as vaccinations and doses received can check out the map here, https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#vaccinations . Select "People Initiating Vaccination" and "Count". States with D goobernors, such as NY and CA, are doing pretty horribly. OTOH, FL and AZ are doing horribly as well.

The vaccine companies and Feds have distributed over 15.4M doses to the various states (as of yesterday AM). The states, OTOH, have vaccinated less than 4.6M people. At this point the CF is many of the states (not the Dakotas, BTW).

Since both of the vaccines are two dose, in these early days, reaching 50% of the vaccines available means 100% of the people that can be treated.

Well, we're experiencing 'issues' here in FL as well.  Giving the green light to the vaccines so quickly with inadequate testing time  and trying to rollout this vaccine just as quickly as possible I see as a recipe for a disaster.

September 2, 2020 - The director of the CDC asked US state governors to prepare for large-scale distribution of a Covid-19 vaccine by November 1st; the distribution would be carried out by McKesson Corp.; https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/cdc-tells-states-prepare-large-scale-distribution-covid-19-vaccine-n1239149

In the event, this gave states' governors nearly 3 1/2 months to get their act together. This was around the time the goobernors of NY, CA, and several other states decided to play election politics and pretend the vaccines were not being tested properly. They should have used that time to get things organized with their counties' health departments and hospitals in the state. Somehow the much maligned (by the MSM), very rural Dakotas managed it (in SD, 64.5% of doses received have been administered; in ND, 54.8% of doses received have been administered). CA is at 22.4%; NY at 32.0%; MI at 20.7%; AZ at 16.4%; FL at 23.0%.

The 2-doses response above is a long way from being relevant, if it ever will be. From yesterday to today another ~2.6M doses were delivered to states, So deliveries are far outpacing injections. Between just Pfizer and Moderna 400M doses have been ordered, with options to order several hundred million more. And then there are hundreds of millions more doses on order (contingent on being approved) from AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, and Novavax. I doubt that the 2-dose regimen will ever limit states' distribution (and BTW, the J & J vaccine could be single-dose).
