I see it as a narrow win. Honestly I'd rather see her than someone more radical and more to the left.  She is showing signs of dementia, she'll be turning 81 in March, so realistically we could perhaps see her have to step down sooner rather than later.

The DEMS are obviously F'd up, but they are in control with a push towards socialism. Our focus needs to be our Republic; certainly won't be done at the ballot box and we need to come together and figure out how to move forward.

Five centrist Democrats oppose Pelosi for Speaker in tight vote

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) lost five Democratic defectors in her razor-thin margin for winning reelection to what is likely to be her final term as Speaker on Sunday in a vote that fell under the shadow of the COVID-19 pandemic and a historically thin House majority.

Pelosi managed to win over some of the 15 Democrats who previously declined to back her for Speaker in 2019 to muscle her way to another two years leading House Democrats.

But a handful of centrists who represent competitive districts who also opposed Pelosi for Speaker in 2019 did so again on Sunday at the start of the new session of Congress.


Pelosi won 216 votes to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy's (R-Calif.) 209. Not a single Republican defected from McCarthy, compared to six in 2019. Other defectors from two years ago did not win reelection.

Drama...ha...Miss Nancy is good at counting votes. She needed 214 to retain Speakership.  She got that with 2 to spare and it allowed the other 5 to defect..it's all political games.

Members Exposed to Coronavirus Using Separate Entrance, ‘Secure Enclosure’ to Vote in Speakership Election

House members who are otherwise supposed to be in quarantine due to exposure to the Chinese coronavirus are reportedly using a separate entrance and “secure enclosure” on Sunday to vote in the speakership election.

Capitol Hill physician Brian Monahan said the members in question, who tested negative for the virus, will be permitted to vote via a “secure enclosure.” Such will “ensure continuity of operations of essential functions.” Further, Monahan said they will be “permitted to continue work following potential exposure to COVID-19 provided they remain asymptomatic and additional precautions are implemented to protect them and the community.”

U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis (R-IL) reportedly called the action “shameful,” adding that the “only reason this is happening is because Speaker Pelosi needs to be re-elected speaker”:
