It’s Your Damn Money

The ruling class might be getting richer on the not-so-free market while you get poorer, but at least they stopped Trump’s “socialist calamity” of returning to you $2000 of your own money.

Today is another day that ends in “y,” so the weak-kneed “Republicans” of the GOP Establishment, emboldened after four years of fighting the America First revolt on behalf of Chinese oligarchs and grown men who wear beanies in Silicon Valley, are making yet another underhanded attempt to derail Donald Trump.

You can’t have a $2000 stimulus check, say the former cruise vacation salesmen at TheBulwarkDispatchReview. They’ve even managed to attract some neophyte followers to their dying political cause, like mosquitos to the bug zapper.

Why can’t you have a $2000 stimulus check? Well, that’s socialism! And socialism—get this—is bad!

I’m no socialist, but I’m also not into worshipping the false god of “free market” capitalism. After all it’s not really a “free market” if the government can order it to a grinding halt, is it? Ask the small business owners whose livelihoods have been destroyed forever upon the whims of certain governors and Dr. Fauci, who has spent more time on the cable news circuit than following TheScience™, how free they’re feeling about our supposed “free market.” True “free market” capitalism is sacrificing our small businesses on the altars of Amazon and other big corporations to the tune of $68 trillion in wealth.

That aside, here’s what the anti-Trumpers aren’t telling you: It’s your damn money, anyway.

It's not our money, for Pete's sake. (And I don't mean the Petes on this board.)

It's borrowed money from God knows where that we've shown no intent or ability to pay back. It's a wonder these foreign lenders even allow us to borrow from them anymore.

So when you decide to go to the bank and take out a mortgage, the money they gave you is not yours?

Explain that one for me please, for if it is not mine, I do not have to pay anybody anything back then, do I?

That's right. Once you take out that mortgage, you are in DEBT and that bank now has the right to take that money back at any time... and if you can't or won't, they can repossess whatever you used as collateral.

A loan is not a paycheck. Eventually the money that was used for those stimulus checks, however much they end up being, will have to be paid back with interest.

You really do not understand how banking works, then.

A bank loans you money.  It is now YOURS.  In exchange for the money, you have entered into a contract with the bank to pay the bank back.  That is debt for you as well as money which is now YOURS.

And the bank does NOT "now has the right to take that money back at any time" as there is a contract in place containing the terms of paying the debt.
