Relax @Cyber Liberty  -- It's never over with any POTUS action until he says it is.

Now put back your damn avatar, whatever the hell it was.

Maybe.  Trump caving to Pelosi, and throwing his supporters under the bus, spoiled my New Year.  He's not going to get a single "redline" Impound, that was an invisible bone tossed at us.

The real question from this exercise is not why the President did what he did.  The real question is: Why did the GOP force this choice on their President --- and how the hell do we hold them accountable, really accountable and light that damn fuse?

@Right_in_Virginia

Because the old line RINO's have a symbiotic relationship with their Dim colleagues, where they share the power and split the wealth, all the time pretending to be opponents.

This is a shell game they played for decades and got away with it because DC was a "company town" that relied on "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours",and the press of the day was mostly in the bag. The few newspapers that did report on it didn't have wide circulation, and the internet didn't exist so people in Topeka, for instance, was aware of how they were all in bed together.

All that has changed due to the internet, and because of this they are now coming out in the ope and joining forces to form a One Party government to make them arrest proof as well as guarantee they will be reelected as long as they want to remain in office.

We either hang together now to beat them politically,or we might end up having to try to beat them militarily, and they control the budget.

Anyone who isn't paranoid in 2021 just isn't thinking clearly!

Whatever you say.  You may be in denial that he just threw away a lot of much-needed support going into next week's drama.  And, if he gets one dollar of reckless spending out by using the Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974, I'll eat my hat.  It was designed to protect Congress' control over a budget, not the President's authority.

I'm not in any denial @Cyber Liberty  And with all respect, between the two of us I'm more acquainted with the President's true supporters and I'm simply asking you to breathe and calm down.  All your panic is doing is placing blame on the President if the GOP in Congress abandon their voters, as planned for weeks, on Jan 6.

But it won't stop the coming divorce.  All your continued tantrum will do is make it messier.

Giving.  Pelosi.  Every.  Single.  Thing.  She.  Wanted.

Didn't make the left gleeful?  All it did was peel his own supporters away from himself.  And he broke his "No New Omnibus Spending!" promise, putting him in the same box as Bush 41.

Sorry, I will not stop being extremely disappointed in Donald Trump.

Okey, dokey then.   You're mad.   I get it.  I'm not real happy, myself, CL.

I suspect little lindsey worked his "charm" on Donald on the golf course.   And unfortunately, Trump is very 'swayable' by certain cretins.

What makes me angriest, is we have really gone out on a limb to support his case of electoral fraud, and now we see capitualtion central?  I am really suprised that the resident NT population hasn't come here and rubbed it in our faces.

What the hell are you talking about @Cyber Liberty  McConnell got every single thing *he* wanted in this bill.  Why do you always gloss over this?  Why?

McConnell could have stopped this cold and pressured/dared Pelosi to shut down the government -- and done so with the President's full support.   He didn't --- he passed the bill and threatened the President.  McConnell's the one who wanted all this so badly he flew the veto-proof bill 2000 miles for the President's signature and sent Graham to deliver the GOP's threats and lies.

McConnell's the one who is going to stop the separate bill passed by Pelosi for replacing the $600 checks with the $2,000 checks.  McConnell's the one who will not bring up legislation stopping Section 230 (gotta protect his donors), reforming election procedures (he's safe for six years) or even contemplate removing the foreign pork, not one single line of it....kickbacks matter to this piece of shit.

Get your "facts" straight.   Our enemy here is Mitch McConnell and his merry band of GOP senators, not the President who's forced to deal with this coven of maggots.

Our problem is we are depending upon a single person to fight a monolith consisting of tens of thousands with a single mind to perpetuate their own franchise. We should understand by now there is very little he can do unless they allow him to. Where he has been able to act it has always been in our interests.

Ranting at him for being unable to deny the federal pig it’s meal is a waste of energy. The beast cannot be stopped.

Pocket veto would have been the way to go; perhaps forcing a stand alone bill.

It doesn't make a dang bit of difference right now.  We may narrowly keep the Senate IF the GOP manages to win GA; people aren't happy with Trump recent packpedal and with Heels up as the deciding vote if it comes to a tie not a lot of wiggle room there.  Also, there is no way in heck that any court, judge, etc., is going to overturn this election, especially when SCOTUS FAILED to even hear the case.  Honestly with Trump signing this bill, I'm not buying into any more of his or Rudy's hype about still a chance of making headway as far as him being seated.

So ... as for continuing to follow Trump...why? It's over. Do you really think he's going to continue on and run again in 2024?  Not going to happen.  He'll be 78.  Good luck with even getting another Republican seated in the Senate or House in 2022; demographics are changing and the DEMS change the 'rules' every time they get a chance.  Trump is not stupid, nor does he need the aggravation, or them hounding him for the next 4 years.  Wishful thinking perhaps by his avid supporters, but I have not heard him state that he will be running in 2024.

Where to go from here is the big question???  We don't have 4 years to play tiddlywinks again while the leftists set up to steal another election, pack the courts, grant asylum to illegals and reach for our guns.

There wasn't time @libertybele  The government would have shut down at midnight tonight --- a pocket veto needs 10 working days from the day the President receives the bill.

Instead of massive selloff with an economic hit from a government shutdown, the Dow is up today ---  The President really does care about the economy and keeping it moving in the right direction, and the GOP knew this.  He is loathe to trigger a Dow collapse.

The GOP also knew the President wouldn't stall the distribution of the vaccine, shut down unemployment for those still reeling from the shutdowns, nor would he abandon small businesses needing help or facilitate evictions by cash-strapped landlords.  The GOP took total advantage of their own President for their own greed knowing the President would again take the hit for the American people.

The beauty is it will be up to the GOP controlled Senate to tell the American people they're not worth $2,000.  As they prepare to invalidate the legal votes of their base on Jan 6, I expect them to do just that.

I don't know what people are so afraid we're going to lose if McConnell is no longer the Senate leader.

I could give a rat's azz about McConnell he's a worthless piece of crap as is most of the GOP and the party is going to die. It's just a matter of time.  By 2022 the courts will be packed.....I've said this all many times ... long story short  .... We lose our Republic.

Which leaves us with 4 clear choices.

   1. Reform the GOP w/McConnell (just reelected, Trump endorsed)
   2. Steal the Party/Platform of another party that's already registered in numerous states (Constitution Party)
   3. Start a new Party
   4. (JGTFU)  Just give the F up and go Galt

   My pick # 2

My pick is #3; for the simple fact that the Constitution Party though known, and already has a platform, they have NEVER qualified in all 50 states to make a difference and they are considered 3rd party.

IMHO the GOP is going to be dissolved soon by the DEMS anyways .... so I say completely NEW party OR convince millions of Trump and Cruz supporters to financially back them.  Big problem IS leadership.  Their choice of their presidential nominee had much to be desired.

The Constitution Party has changed their platform....which is why I say a brand new kick azz constitutional conservative party/new government.

Either/or @corbe you and I are pretty much on the same page.  How do we move forward to accomplish this is the question?  It's got to be from the ground up...lot of work....need lots of people...and ultimately a ton of $$.

Dr. Ron Paul would have the answers as years ago there were groups trying to persuade him to run under the Constitution Party and he declined saying he felt running under the GOP was much easier and he was already a member.  He is now obviously much older and last I read was ill ..... so not sure.  Maybe Rand?  Not so sure about Ted anymore.  He has the intelligence and the background .... but ... I don't think he's going to leave his seat or want the headache especially with having two daughters.  I see him packing it up and  saying he's had enough and going to work in the private sector.

Just throwing ideas out there .... anyone else???
