A 96-year-old World War II soldier from the United States has fulfilled a “dream†of reuniting with three Italian children he almost shot during the autumn of 1944.
Martin Adler was fighting against the retreating German Nazi army in the Apennine mountains between Florence and Bologna when he and a fellow soldier found three children in a barn.
