Barr to step down as attorney general

Attorney General William Barr will step down from his position in the coming days, leaving the Trump administration about a month before Joe Biden's inauguration.

President Trump announced Barr's decision on Twitter, saying that the two had a "very good" relationship and praising Barr for doing an "outstanding job." Trump had sharply criticized Barr in recent days.

Barr plans to leave the Justice Department on Dec. 23, according to his resignation letter.

Attorney General William Barr resigns, effective Dec. 23

...Trump, who is refusing to concede the race to Biden, announced Barr’s decision and shared his resignation letter on Twitter.

“Just had a very nice meeting with Attorney General Bill Barr at the White House,” Trump said in a pair of tweets. “Our relationship has been a very good one, he has done an outstanding job!”

Deputy Attorney General Jeff Rosen will serve as acting attorney general following Barr’s departure, Trump said in the tweets. Richard Donoghue, former US Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, will take over Rosen’s role as the No. 2 official at the Justice Department, Trump wrote.

Just had a very nice meeting with Attorney General Bill Barr at the White House. Our relationship has been a very good one, he has done an outstanding job! As per letter, Bill will be leaving just before Christmas to spend the holidays with his family...

He talked a better game than Sessions, and performed just as poorly in the job.  Reminds me of that other big-talker, Newt Gingrich.

I questioned Trump's selection of Barr from the beginning.  I'm glad to see this piece of trash leaving.  A little too late; he's already done irreparable damage.

Barr and John Roberts, both heavily questionable by me, did the job the whole democrat party couldn't achieve, give President Trump the bums rush out.  Trump played Romney/G.W.Bush, so it much too(k ) on the looks of a behind the scenes Kabuki Theater with the endings decided long before hand.  Two years Biden, Ten years Kamala.  Male and female socialist whores will and have l ruled the oval office, and as i have often predicted, America becomes a third world Country, like Venezuela.

Yes I had great hopes for Barr until I read his best buddy in DC was Mueller.... :thud:
