Special Counsel John Durham is adding prosecutors to his team and making "excellent progress" on his probe into the origins of the Trump-Russia investigation, Fox News reported on Monday.
A federal law enforcement official familiar with the probe told Fox News that it is unclear, however, who those prosecutors are.
Durham was appointed by Attorney General William Barr last year after special counsel Robert Mueller completed his investigation into whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians to sway the 2016 presidential election.
Barr then elevated Durham’s status to that of a special counsel, explaining in a letter to the Senate and House Judiciary Committees two months ago that he did so “in advance of the presidential election … to provide him and his team with the assurance that they could complete their work, without regard to the outcome of the election.â€
Fox News reported last week that Durham was moving "full speed ahead" with his investigation after Election Day, even though Durham has been silent about the probe.
