'We’re ready': Pelosi says House 'prepared' to pick president if need be

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Congress stands ready should the legislative body be needed to decide the 2020 presidential race.

“We understand what the law is and the preeminence of the role of Congress and specifically the House of Representatives when it comes to counting the votes,” the California Democrat told NPR during a Monday interview. “But let’s not worry about that right now. We’re ready. We’re prepared.”

If the results of Tuesday’s presidential vote are unclear come Jan. 6 (more than two months after the election), the matter gets passed to the House where each state’s delegation would get one vote and a majority of states, at least 26, would be needed to win. The Senate would elect the vice president, with each senator getting one vote.

Pelosi said that she hopes that Joe Biden will cruise to a clear victory and “dispel any thought” that he will not be sworn in on Inauguration Day, although she said the House is prepared for all contingencies.

I believe that currently the GOP controls a majority of state delegations. It will be unknown what the incoming HoR looks like.

Not going to happen.  Trump in the next 2-3 weeks will pick up Arizona, North Carolina, Alaska, and Pennsylvania in the courts.  99% certain.

He needs Michigan or Georgia to hit the 270.  He will get there, for if the Supreme Court does not stamp out this criminal fraud by Biden and the Democommies, we will be the next Venezuela for certain.  Roberts will not be part of the solution, but I am hopeful the five votes are there.
