In my corporate media training sessions long ago, we had some drinks with one of the instructors who was a retired Bureau Chief for CBS.  He gave us a fascinationg rundown of how CBS / Sixty Minutes basically invented and perfected the Ambush Interview.  Basically it is an extremely complicated process of skillfull editing, camera angles, lighting, voice tone adjustment annoneation, etc, etc, etc.  He absolutely said they could make Mother Teresa look like a serial killer, if they tried or wanted to.

If Trump is smart, he will go ahead and air the whole thing, and deal with the legal consequences later.  There have been nice pieces that exposed the 60 Minute Smear machine in the past, but none has ever gotten enough viewership to get any traction.  A Trump effort might finally open some eyes, that not only 60 Min, but the entire MSM has been corrupt as hell, and is acting as the dimocratic state media.

@catfish1957 this is why I would never go on a reality tv show. People don’t realize the producers pinhole the contestants into certain archetypes to maintain a narrative and do so via editing and “frankenbites”

What pisses me off is your passive aggression ..., wrapping yourself in virtue... your unyielding devotion to fiscal Conservatism. That is no great shakes.  It's is as easy is picking money off the floor while residing in the wilderness of Montana so long as you have electricity and a computer, that you are in a position to preach and dictate to those of us in the lion's den of Liberal/Progressive local governments.

Given CBS's less than stellar record on journalistic integrity and honest factual reporting...I'm glad Trump went ahead and released the entire unedited version of the interview.

It lets Americans see for themselves what 60 minutes won't show them assuming they follow through with airing their produced package for the show on Sunday night.

IMHO I don't think the interview will air now.

I have nothing against one demonstrating honest outrage at runaway spending.

But you don't have to include demeaning President Trump every time you complain about it.

Common sense will tell you that you cannot display disdain for people in need of honest assistance and expect to gain their support in the voting booth.  Showing complete apathy in lieu of empathy isn't going to serve your Party, well.

I've seen it posted up on twitter.  Haven't watched it...seen some of the transcript of the back and forth between Trump and Leslie Stahl.  Pretty telling.

That's a tough one, @txradioguy  They are forced to run it.  If they don't it will be the 1st time in decades...not running an pre-election interview with a sitting POTUS seeking a 2nd term.  Especially having already promoted it.

CBS is already out on social media trying to do damage control saying "Trump violated our agreement".

IMO, they're busy editing their edited version as we speak.

Yeah they are going to do that because I don't think a decision will be made until air time on Sunday...IMHO I think it will depend too on how badly Biden does at the debate tonight.

I could very easily see them not airing the interview and instead going with an in studio diatribe the goes something like this:

"Tonight, we were going to air our exclusive interview  that Leslie Stahl had with President Donald Trump, but because of the unprecedented actions taken by President Trump ahead of the interview, and in violation of our signed written agreement with the White House, the President and his staff released an unedited and unfinished version of our interview.  And in light of this egregious behavior and violations of journalistic ethics, we cannot, in good faith, air the interview as we had originally planned."

Right. I really live in South Holland... Never left Chicago... I have a decent job building modular homes on a factory floor and I have a side hustle repairing antique mannequins.
