Criminal charges possible against TV station that hired shooter as guard
'For permitting or directing an unlicensed person to perform security services'

The fatal shooting in Denver of Lee Keltner, 49, during a clash between competing rallies over the weekend is just one of many in recent months amid Black Lives Matter protests since the death of George Floyd.

But the shooting of Keltner may have a longer reach than others since he had been hired by a Denver television station, KUSA-TV, to act as a security guard for reporters at the events.

The Denver City Attorney's office said that when the homicide investigation is concluded, the case might not be over.

"Licensed security guard employers that hire unlicensed security guards could face disciplinary actions against their licenses ranging from a fine, to suspension, to revocation," the statement said. "Businesses could also face criminal charges for permitting or directing an unlicensed person to perform security services."

Sure, get them for hiring an unlicensed security guard. Better than nothing, I suppose, kind of like taking down Al Capone for income tax violations.

OK,how is he going to arrest a TV station? Just how big ARE his jail cells?

BTW,when I was working as a bodyguard and security guard in Denver during the 70's,security guards could ONLY carry 6 shot revolvers in 38 Special. If you had a 357 Magnum revolver,it was ok as long as you only loaded it with 158 grain round-nosed lead bullets that came thSat way from the manufacturer. NO handloads.

I suspect Denver has only gotten more suppressed since then due to all the retards abandoning Ca and moving there,I seriously doubt it's gotten any better.

ESPECIALLY since Denver cops HATE security guards. Off-duty cops earned BIG bucks doing bodyguard work when off-duty BECAUSE they could be better armed, and because if THEY had to shoot someone,it would automatically be declared a "good shoot",and the client would never be held accountable for the actions of his part-time employee.

We are talking pay in the neighborhood of 100 bucks an hour for cop bodyguards, back in the 1970's.
