Democratic VP Nominee Kamala Harris promised at the Vice Presidential debate Wednesday night that, if elected, she and Joe Biden will raise taxes on the American people.

When asked by moderator Susan Page, USA Today Washington Bureau chief and Nancy Pelosi biographer, about Biden’s plan for the economy, Harris proudly exclaimed that he would be raising taxes and that the Biden administration’s first step would be to remove the tax breaks created by President Donald Trump.

“On Day One, Joe Biden will repeal that tax bill. He will get rid of it,” Harris said.

“That is how Joe Biden thinks about the economy. It’s about investing in the people of our country, as opposed to passing a tax bill which has the benefit of letting American corporations go,” Harris said.

Nolte: Frank Luntz Focus Group ‘Overwhelmingly’ Says Mike Pence Won Debate

Pollster Frank Luntz hosted a focus group and found the participants “overwhelmingly ” believe vice president Mike Pence won Wednesday night’s debate.

After the debate was over, he asked for a show of hands as far as who won, and told everyone they had to choose one way or the others. No one was allowed to abstain.

Democrat vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris only received two votes out of the 15 undecided voters present. The rest went for Pence.

“It’s overwhelmingly Mike Pence ,” Luntz said as he counted the hands.

When he asked why, the answers sounded like this:

“Mike Pence was more factual. ”

“I felt he was a lot more composed and I wasn’t a fan of her continual facial expressions.”

“He had command of the issues.”

“Harris didn’t look presidential to me.”

“Harris struggled to put together coherent reasons for different questions.”

One person who said Harris won said, “I feel she cared about the people and she looked presidential.”

“He kept his cool. He answered with facts.”

CLAIM: Abraham Lincoln declined to fill a Supreme Court seat because it was too close to the election.

VERDICT: FALSE. The Senate was out of session. He filled it — in one day — as soon as it was back.

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) tried to argue in the vice presidential debate Wednesday night against the confirmation of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to fill the seat vacated by the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Harris appealed to history, arguing that Vice President Mike Pence and the Republicans are violating a precedent set by President Abraham Lincoln of not confirming a Supreme Court justice before an election.

Harris said:

In 1864 — one of the, I think political heroes certainly of the President, I assume of you also, Mr. Vice President, is Abraham Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln was up for re-election, and it was 27 days before the election. And a seat became open on the United States Supreme Court. Abraham Lincoln’s party was in charge, not only of the White House, but the Senate. But Honest Abe said, “It’s not the right thing to do. The American people deserve to make the decision about who will be the next president of the United States. And then that person can select who will serve for a lifetime on the highest court of our land.” And so Joe and I are very clear: the American people are voting right now, and it should be their decision about who will serve on this most important body for a lifetime.

However, Harris misrepresented what “Honest Abe” did, and why. As Dan McLaughlin of National Review noted, President Abraham Lincoln never said anything like what Harris said he did. He delayed sending a nominee to the Senate because it was out of session. McLaughlin wrote:

    Lincoln, of course, said no such thing. He sent no nominee to the Senate in October 1864 because the Senate was out of session until December. He sent a nominee the day after the session began, and Salmon P. Chase was confirmed the same day. And Lincoln wanted to dangle the nomination before Chase and several other potential candidates because he wanted them to campaign for him. Lincoln’s priority was winning the election, which was necessary to win the war — and he filled the vacancy at the first possible instant.

    Kamala Harris is simply inventing history.

I very nearly turned the debate of because I really wasn't in the mood to listen to a lot of bs. I was glad I didn't.

Of course both Pence and Harris danced around questions they didn't want to answer. Except I took issue with the court packing question that neither Biden nor Harris will answer. Things that make ya go hmmm...

I really tried to watch this with and open mind. Given the fact that I despise the Dems and their platform and find Harris annoying...it was tough. She really didn't answer questions and pounded incessantly on media points that have been debunked. Of course the sad thing is...people that really don't follow politics closely and only listen to the MSM will think she was great and beat the heck out of Pence.

I personally thought that Pence dinged Harris so many times...she should be on the auction block for Cash For Clunkers. He did a great job! I was very impressed.
