KMOV
Oct. 6, 2020

ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- A grand jury has indicted Mark and Patricia McCloskey Tuesday on charges of exhibiting guns at protesters in a June incident in their neighborhood.

Additionally, the grand jury added a charge of tampering with evidence for both members of the couple. ...

Afterward, Mark McCloskey expressed frustration with the fact no protesters were charged in the incident.

“They broke down our gate, they trespassed on our property. Not a single one of those people are now charged with anything,” Mark McCloskey stated. “We’re charged with felonies that could cost us four years of our lives and our law license.” ...

"Evidence Tampering?"  That's pretty rich, considering the crime lab tampered with her gun to enable it to fire a round.

Not charging the protesters is pretty bogus, too, but both St. Louis city (where this happened) and county have radical Marxist prosecuting attorneys.

This year serves as an eye opener to anyone who seeks to live in a trendy neighborhood.  You had better be comfortable with the political climate of the city and county.

@mountaineer

They need to sue the city government AND THE GRAND JURY MEMBERS AS INDIVIDUALS for tampering with their CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS TO DEFEND SELF AND PROPERTY.

Last time I checked, the Constitution trumps local and state laws.

ST. LOUIS — The Circuit Attorney's Office is seeking to conceal the identities of all witnesses and victims in the controversial gun cases against Mark and Patricia McCloskey, who were indicted this week for flourishing weapons at protesters outside the couple's Portland Place mansion.

Assistant Circuit Attorney Rob Huq filed the motion late Wednesday to redact the names of victims and witnesses in case evidence, arguing that they have "expressed concerns for their safety."

"Given the international attention this matter has generated, and the violence and vitriol directed toward the Circuit Attorney's Office for the prosecution of this case, the witnesses were understandably reluctant to cooperate and did so with the understanding that the grand jury proceedings, and their testimony therein, would remain confidential," Huq wrote. ...

Apparently, the lovely prosecutor is pulling out all the stops, knowing the McCloskeys are going to be pardoned anyway.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
Apparently, the lovely prosecutor is pulling out all the stops, knowing the McCloskeys are going to be pardoned anyway.

Unfortunately, those pardons would not erase the unconstitutional precedents set in this prosecution.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
