Biden camp claims Trump 'thinks his best case is made in urine' following call for pre-debate drug tests

A spokeswoman from Joe Biden's campaign said that the former vice president will win Tuesday's debate with President Trump with his responses, not with a urine sample.

Kate Bedingfield dismissed President Trump's demands that each candidate take a drug test prior to the debate on Tuesday. She claimed his drug test request was a distraction from larger issues, including the coronavirus pandemic.

"Vice President Biden intends to deliver his debate answers in words. If the president thinks his best case is made in urine he can have at it," she wrote in a statement on Sunday night. "We’d expect nothing less from Donald Trump, who pissed away the chance to protect the lives of 200K Americans when he didn't make a plan to stop COVID-19.”

Trump suggested on Sunday morning that Biden had performed poorly in the first debates of the Democratic primary because he was not properly medicated. He said that Biden performed well against Sen. Bernie Sanders only because he was being medicated.

Chances are Biden will deliver a urine sample at some point during the debate whether its required or not.
