Here is some Hurricane Sally music for your listening pleasure.

Hey @Wingnut   how are you doing through this hurricane?  Not sure exactly where you are -- Panama area definitely seeing some flooding and parts of the Pensacola bridge is out?  Those are the reports I'm seeing here.

Section of Pensacola Bay Bridge collapses during Hurricane Sally

Hurricane Sally has knocked out a section of Pensacola’s new Three Mile Bridge, according to the Escambia County sheriff.

Camera views from the Florida Department of Transportation show a chunk of the bridge has disappeared.

The Pensacola News Journal reports that a crane collapsed onto the bridge, and Tuesday, the newspaper reported a barge got loose and hit the bridge, which connects Pensacola to Gulf Breeze.

At a news conference, Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan confirmed that part of the new bridge had come off amid the storm.

Crews also struggled to stop a barge that had broken loose from drifting into a nearby bridge that is part of I-10, which runs parallel to the Gulf Coast from Florida into Alabama.

Sally made landfall early Wednesday near Gulf Shores, Alabama, as a Category 2 hurricane with top winds of 100 mph.

Just a rain event for us so far. Nice day to sit under my shed and split wood while sitting on a log. My new Kobalt hammer (handle) broke after two days unfortunately, back to my old hammer. I come in from the cool mist to rest every so often and check the politics.

Wife got me a new wedge to split wood, not impressed so far, it starts good but then wants to bounce out after so far in (so I start with it and use others when I get a foothold in the wood). I don't do mauls now days, takes too much out of me.

I went to a hydraulic splitter long ago... Around here you can pick up a busted one well under $300. Last one I bought for $50. Had to put a motor on it, but 5hp Briggs motors are a dime a dozen used. Wound up in it for 100 bucks and sold it for $350 in 2 days.

You can get at em, at least around here.
Beats the heck out of a splitting maul, and I got it easy with fir and larch.

   Sun came up this morning.  The water is flowing back into the Choctawhatchee Bay and the streets are clear.  Gonna make a B, double-E, double-R, U, N  later and check out the damage elsewhere.  Much like Michael two years ago, 30 miles either way of eye wall land fall would have been a real mess.

I got relatives near Chipley which is 50 miles inland.  The devastation there was incredible.  Their house was a total loss due to all the trees that fell on it.

The devastation that far inland was unprecedented.  Lyn Haven, Blountstown, Marrianna, Chipley and many other towns north of FL Hwy 20  took a huge hit as the storm crossed into GA.
