Well, considering what I think of politicians in general, being perfect at it would be like being a successful serial killer. They lie to your face in such a way that they promise you a trip to hell and have you marking the days before you go.

What this country really needs are statesmen, and most of those are long dead.

To be fair the flu kills those with other health issues - like this does. So if you were only to count those with the flu and no other major health issues the flu death rate would also be much lower.

The data is so scewed up who knows which kills more.

I'd guess Covid-19 is is worse than the common flu - but not drastically. And I say that based on a small number of healthy people that respond very badly to the Covid-19 that have survived the flu up to that point in their lives. There appears to be a genetic predisposition in some people.

Of those <10,000 were from COVID alone.  The rest were comorbidities, so it's still a lot.  But this story is still huge because it shakes confidence in the rest of the data. That's where the lying comes in.

Same with my husband, he had brain cancer, had him in 5 different hospitals, he died due to cancer.  Doctor put "heart failure" on his death certificate.  If he had not had cancer, he would be alive right now.

What we need is about twenty uninterrupted terms of patriotic people with regular business and life experience elected as president and congressional officers. Statesmen just sounds like another way of saying smooth, professional politician. I’m a bit soured on those.

That makes sense, but people have died in car crashes, and if a postmortem test indicates positive for COVID-19, that's a COVID statistic.  You can look that up, it's been in the papers for months now.
