Susan Collins faces battle of lifetime in Maine
By Rebecca Beitsch - 08/29/20 01:14 PM EDT

ORONO, Maine — Maine lawns may not yet be overwhelmed by campaign signs, but their airwaves have been taken over by the heated rhetoric of the hottest Senate race in the country.

Sen. Susan Collins is the centrist Republican incumbent who faces the political fight of her life against state House Speaker Sara Gideon to win another six-year term.

Collins has been vilified by Democrats over her vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court despite claims of sexual misconduct.

It is a decision that has flooded the Maine Senate battle with early money, turning it into one of the most expensive races in the country.

Whether Ms. Collins wins or loses this time, is entirely up to Mr. Trump.
She's gonna need his coattails to pull her across the line.
Even they may not be enough.

If she DOES win, I wonder if she'll repay Mr. Trump with loyalty afterwards?

The article states that she is a 'centrist', I don't see her that way at all.  I see her as a liberal.  Yes, she did the right thing with Kavanaugh, but for the most part she takes a liberal stance.  At best she is classified as a "moderate libertarian liberal".  IMHO whether she wins or loses, it doesn't make a whole lot of difference -- she's a RINO -- vote her out!

She joined the DEMS in funding planned parenthood.
Voted no on paying down debt.
Voted no on constitutional ban for same sex marriage.
Voted yes on enlarging NATO
Voted yes on continuing federal funding on sanctuary cities
Voted no on limiting welfare illegals
Voted no on allowing personal retirement accounts
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.
