The Virginia Senate passed legislation Wednesday that would demote assaulting a police officer from a felony to a misdemeanor and would remove a mandatory jail sentence for the crime.

Virginia’s upper chamber voted 21-15 to approve Senate Bill 5032 during the current Virginia General Assembly special session, WSLS first reported.

Well that figures.   Leftists running and ruining a state.... making laws that are going in exactly the wrong direction (backasswards).   Yep.   Consistent, if nothing else.
No quarter given to the enemy within...ever.

Virginia with its one party government is following California down the commode. Although the number of federal employees living there may help forestall the inevitable.

Next up will be a bill offering rewards for the killing of any policeman.  Same message.

Well look at the positives.

There may be fewer people assaulting a police officers that are able to mention it.
And less expense in the current circus of booking, jailing, setting bond, and release.

I'm guessing police retirements will hit an all time high.

If this bill becomes law,  guess here's one perp who will be given a misdemeanor slap on the wrist for his assault and let out free to commit attempted murder once again.

I think it won't be long before they reap the benefits of this stupidity as the rush of retirements and disability claims builds steam and they find the Bill is moot because there are no police officers left in Virginia to assault. Not even completely socialist countries are stupid enough to do what Virginia has.
