The Republican National Convention averaged 15.9 million viewers on its opening night, falling short of the 18.7 million who tuned in for the beginning of last week's Democratic convention, according to Nielsen Media Research figures released Tuesday.

Viewership on Monday evening was down 30 percent from the first night of the 2016 GOP convention, similar to the 28 percent decline from four years ago for Democrats.

Fox News led all networks on Monday with 7.06 million viewers in the 10 p.m. ET hour, when former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley (R) and Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) were among those giving speeches.


CNN was second with 2.009 million viewers, followed by ABC with 1.978 million.

We don't watch CNN or MSNBC or PBS and Fox lost half their viewership last night with their irritating non-coverage and talking heads @mystery-ak   

We went to C-Span and live streams including OAN, Right Side, the White House, RNC and Trump 2020.  We've been going to these sites for a long while.  Trump 2020 has been holding daily virtual rallies since the Spring -- garnering over 1 million viewers a week.

We get to see the program without the interruptions and fade outs.  We've been well trained.  We make it difficult for trackers and pollsters, to count us  --- but we are out here in droves.   :laugh:

Hannity heard from his viewers and will show the convention without interruptions tonight...so he says....I actually watched it on OAN last night...I guess Nielsen doesn't monitor OAN
