President Donald Trump revealed he is “ready to send” more economic stimulus relief to Americans but accused Democrats of holding things up.

The president repeatedly noted that Democrats “are holding this up” in several tweets on Friday and during a press briefing, announcing that he had directed the Treasury Department to ready another round of stimulus checks for Americans and that he is standing by to sign a coronavirus relief bill.

$3,400, made up of payments equaling $1,200 for adults and $500 for each child.

“Democrats are holding this up,” he added, going on to read from a list of other actions he said he is ready to move on, awaiting Democrats to agree with their Republican colleagues in Congress in ongoing negotiations that have stalled over the next relief package.

The president also shared his intentions in several tweets that echoed his remarks at the briefing.

“I have directed @stevenmnuchin1 to get ready to send direct payments ($3,400 for family of four) to all Americans,” Trump wrote. “DEMOCRATS ARE HOLDING THIS UP!”

I know several people that received $1200 each from the first Covid stimulus... that didn't need it.... had not missed one day of pay and/or had plenty of money to live on and hadn't lost any money due to Covid.   So here we go again.... another blind offering of $$$ that we don't really have.

So to each only according to their need?

The simple fact of the matter is virtually everyone will pay for this one way or another. Either from lost buying power or taxes.

So if everyone is going to pay for it then everyone should get a piece of it. Otherwise it is just welfare where the government picks winners and losers.

I'd argue the government shouldn't be handing out money like this at all. It is a self inflicted wound.

We got the 2400.  Didn't really need it.  Made the decision to to spend it locally at independent stores, (Ace Hardware, local fresh seafood and produce markets) and mom and pop restaurants.

I certainly wasn't going to spend a dime of it on-line with Amazon and the like.


Seemed like the best use of it.  Don't know if it did any good.

Basically did the same thing; I paid our quarterly property taxes and the rest went towards a few home improvements, hiring local independent small businesses.

With all that I've been reading about Amazon lately --- I'm going to try to avoid purchasing from them if I can.
