Several minutes after initially taking the podium, someone – who appeared to be a Secret Service agent – told the president shots had been fired outside before Trump stopped and walked out of the room.

The president said he was not taken to the White House bunker, but was rather ushered to the Oval Office.

He didn't have much more to say about it other than to heap praise upon the Department and his Detail.

He said he had lots of enemies. I think that's an understatement given the climate of the country these days.  He isn't exactly popular with the DEMS and other liberal mental midgets and subversives and the only thing the Chuckie and Nancy and the rest of the gang have done is create unnecessary dissension.  I take issue at times with President Trump, but I absolutely believe this country would suffer a tremendous loss if something were to happen to him.

Doesn't really say whether the perp made a threat to Trump or whether he was some bozo who hates law enforcement. 

Also, the report contained in the Daily Caller doesn't say whether the guy drew a weapon; yet it says both he and the Secret Service officer were taken to hospitals.  So was there a weapon or wasn't there?  If there was no weapon, how did the officer become injured. 

I don't know if this statement was just poorly written or is someone hiding something.  Sheesh!   When will the government ever be straight with us?

Berryman was shot twice in the torso, according to the law enforcement official who was not authorized to comment publicly. No firearm was found on Berryman, who was listed in stable condition Tuesday. The official did not identify the item that Berryman pulled from his clothing.
