FBI: 300 domestic terrorism probes launched since late May

The FBI is pursuing more than 300 domestic terror investigations related to protests and riots, following the death of George Floyd. That’s according to U.S. attorney Erin Cox who spoke Tuesday at a hearing on Antifa on Capitol Hill.
Cox said that number does not include potential civil rights investigations or violent crime surrounding the unrest. She also noted anti-government activists have been “hijacking†peaceful protests and “unleashing harm†in cities across the country.
“Somehow the notion of committing violence in the name of an anti-government dogma be it be Antifa, Boogaloo or any other espoused ideologies has been gaining traction at an alarming rate,†Cox explained. “Unlike the lawful protesters whose demonstrations they undermine, these anti-government extremist intend to tear down the rule of law in America — not improve it.â€
