The Minneapolis Police Department is advising residents of the city to “Be prepared to give up your cell phone and purse/wallet” if approached by robbers, and “Do not argue or fight with the criminal. Do as they say.”

The “robbery prevention tips” were circulated by the department and reported by local ABC affiliate KSTP-5. They advise that the city is suffering an increase in robberies and carjackings, especially in the 3rd Precinct — the area of the city in which George Floyd was killed in police custody on Memorial Day, and rioters destroyed police headquarters.

I have some tips of my own that might work better (for the victim, not for the perp)...

Robbery Prevention Tips:

*  Stay alert
*  Arm yourself
*  Always carry a loaded weapon
*  If approached by robber, fire every bullet at robber

Carjacking Prevention Tips:

*  Stay alert
*  Arm yourself
*  Always carry a loaded weapon
*  If approached by carjacker, fire every bullet at carjacker

No quarter given to the enemy within...ever.

Of course they do. If people start taking care of themselves,there is no need for the police.

I remember Massad Ayoob saying to keep a $20 bill in your shirt pocket. And if you get mugged, quickly hand 'em the 20 and say that's all you got, to try and not have to deal with all the red tape if you hafta shoot another mugger.

@Elderberry

Then again,Ayoob is one of those "experts" who has never been robbed or in a gunfight.

I hear ya!  Too many supposed xperts out there.

I pack a gun, a knife, sometimes an ASP, but never a 20 to give away.
