In which Decade did you feel the most Content?

Sure, it's a subjective question based entirely on the current filters in your Mind.

Just a time shot of the physiological climate of Briefers in general and a snapshot of the age group here.
No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

The 60's and 70's. I was bulletproof, and could leap tall buildings with a single bound.

And that was BEFORE any alcohol was added. I got downright cocky with a few drinks in me.

Prior to COVID things were just fine...
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

I have felt content in every decade. Of course the 50s and 60s were times of poverty. But poverty is an advantage. It helps you focus on what is important, focus on doing something about it, and focus on passing on what is temporary. I was active in sports in HS and was quite good in football and wrestling. I worked and saved every nickle to go to college. Put myself through and took BS and MS degrees.

My whole life is content and each decade for differing reasons. I did what others declined doing and found gold in the dirt.

They even made a movie about me. Its a Wonderful Life. Well is wasn't really about me.

50's Grew up in West Virginia, father a coal miner, mother a home maker.  Telephones were on a party line.  TV we had three channels.  Teachers were good.  Professional sports were good.
60's Graduated from High School.  Kennedy assassinated.  Went to WVU for two years and joined the Navy, four years at sea.  Viet Nam consumed the news, the protests began.  Kent State.
70's Honorable discharge.  Bought first car.  In New England.  Went to work for defense contractor.  Went back to school nights.  Short skirts and high heels, hot pants.  Bought first house.  Movie Jaws a big hit.
80's West coast for graduate degrees.  Moved around a lot.
90's Moved around a lot.
00's Retired at age 62.

Content overall but most content in the 50's and 60's and since retiring.  Bottom line, work sucks.

60's and 70's for me hands down!  Got out of the Army in 69. Went to work for an oil company and saw the world. Lucky enough to be involved is some very large projects and work for a company that was more concerned with what you could do than what piece of paper you possessed.  1979 and the Iranian revolution ended that for awhile. Then became a mercenary in the consulting business. Retired early.

I also voted for 60s/70s @Bigun   Discharged with a USAF Honorable and a high paying job, coding for Shell Oil. Though I wasted a good marriage to the best damn woman I have ever known, thinkin with my little head, it all turned out well.  The 50's sucked for me growing up in Lousyana, we were poor, red beans most every night, and a race skirmish in my little town on the other nights that I snuck out the window.

I've progressed but it doesn't seem like the other half have.

I'm lucky enough to be married to the same GREAT woman for 52+ years now.  (53 come March 2, 2021) No telling what would have become of me had not see entered the picture.  I was one bad dude when I came back to the USA from Vietnam but she saved me from myself. (And put up with a lot of stuff most would not have in the process.)

I have the info to contact my first wife (haven't spoke to her since '92 when I moved back to Texas), I just don't have the cajones.
   She wanted kids, I didn't.
It was a major Life regret of mine.
I made terrible mistakes in the 80's and hurt the people I love the most.

II'm sorry that happened.  Is she remarried?

Yes, she had red headed twin girls 11 months after our divorce. USAF Crew Chief Murphy was the father as she was the Flight Line Major's Secretary @ Ellington/Houston.
Good Woman from Vermont who will always hold a special corner of my Heart.

No, @DB I have enough Drama in my Life right now.

Considering I wasn't even born 'til the mid-1980s, it's hard for me to say. It's been pretty much downhill since birth in that department for me.

Savor that, leave her alone, stop beating yourself up, and move on.  That's my advice. Probably worth just what it cost you @corbe

Maybe one day I'll have the opportunity to buy you a beer.  I'd like that.

The 90's for me. I was in my late-20's/early-30's, living with the lady who would become my wife, making good money working in a field I enjoyed, and I still had my health. Then 2000 came around, and everything started going to sh!t.
Let it burn.

I chose "prior to the 60s" because I think I would have liked to have lived in the during the Calvin Coolidge Roaring Twenties.
