A Virginia newspaper called out local leaders on Monday after a weekend of rioting and lawlessness in Richmond, asking: "When will they say “enough?”The Richmond Times-Dispatch criticized local officials in an editorial published on Monday titled, “Where is the Leadership?”
The editorial asked when will the violence stop.
“What is the end game to these protests? The violence seems to escalate daily, not just in Virginia’s capital city but across the country,” it said, adding that “the absence of leadership at all levels of government has compounded these circumstances.”
“We’ve normalized too many behaviors that make Richmond — and the United States — a less safe and prosperous place to live,” the editorial continued.

This is the leadership that Virginia voters chose in the last election.  But to their credit, the Richmond Times Dispatch endorsed Ed Gillespie over Ralph'Bblackface' Northam.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

-Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."

Elections have consequences, especially at the state and local level.  It is no coincidence that rising violence and crime are primarily affecting Dem-run jurisdictions.

Too many people have forgotten the malaise and self-loathing of the seventies.   Seems like we must repeat history yet again without learning a damn thing.

I'm reminded of the hellhole NYC has become under DeBlasio. Remember the 70s, "Ft. Apache the Bronx" and that sort of thing? Then Rudy cleaned things up. Now junkies are shooting up right on Broadway.

No, some people/voters never learn.

The "leadership" is "on the side" of the rioters.
They may even be part of their organization.
And the rioters may be acting under their direction.

Does that answer the question?
