"The distraught and desperate Democrats are flailing..."

I don't think they're "flailing".
Right now, they're in the car that's ahead in the race.
They have a problem, however: their "driver" has dementia and could take a wild turn off the road at any moment...

@Fishrrman

They have two problems.

Problem number two is their backup driver is so evil and unappealing they can't even mention her name until it is too late to replace her,and the Dims and the RINO's have destroyed Trump.

And the "her" I am writing about is NOT one of Pimpin Slow Joe's VP string of hos. That was and is nothing but a sham to please the homo voting block.

IMNSHO,the plan is to have Slow Joe step down due to dementia AFTER being elected, but BEFORE being sworn in,so the Dim leadership don't have to fool around with any awkward elections. They can just nominate the next President.

You all know who they are going to nominate, right?

Hint: "It ain't the drag queen known as Manchelle."

Wonderful, full-throated discourse.
Meanwhile, Rome burns.
-----------------------------
Sailed,
while Paris burned in 1795, a frightened Directory gave Brigadier Napoleon command,
whereupon he immediately ordered Field Cannon into Paris to fire directly into the mobs.
The burning, looting and killing ended within a day!!!
Rome burns, as well as Portland, Seattle, Chicago, New York and the rest; because
rather than Napoleon we have political assholery; ALL OF THEM, SO WHAT DO POSTERS SAY? Er....................................YOUR POLITICIAN SUCKS BUT MINE IS THE GREATEST!!!!!
And what is the retort........YOUR POLITICIAN SUCKS BUT MINE IS THE GREATEST!!!!

Sure dished up a huge helping of useless word salad.
So again why did Kirk vote socialist in 1944 and in 1976?
And while you are at it, cover Kirk's  anti-Semitism issues.
--------------------------------
You and your sources richly deserve each other.
Obviously you've got the rag on about Kirk, who unlike
you, was a self-educated achiever in History & Literature.
Nothing further!!!!!

So pop a load of grapeshot (canister, or the modern equivalent) into a crowd of protesters hauling their 6 month old to the protest, or with little children along for human shields, and you and I know exactly where every lens in the country would be focused. Napoleon finished his life in exile, too.
The political assholery has you put it has come from the Mayors and even Governors of those jurisdictions where looting and burning, and "protesting' continues, in a thinly veiled Communist insurgency. The people of those jurisdictions aren't storming the 'palace' to get those politicians who are not (as most would perceive it) doing their jobs. The police are impotent in their rules of engagement, the National Guard remains uncalled.

If the people who live there won't take their own government to task, the one they elected, where is the dissent? They approve with their silence.
When they get tired of it they will change it.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Napoleon, a great Man, internalized the wisdom of Machiavelli;
"Tis far better the Prince be feared rather than loved."
But we moderns, embarrass ourselves by asserting our greatness
daily, then running off at the mouth w/sanctimonious excuses for
our self created morass.

@Cyber Liberty  I do hope you're paying this guy for the comic relief he provides ... at least enough to cover his pizza and beer.

I'm still tallying up all the popcorn he sold for me at the concession for the folks entertained by his child-like grasp of politics.  Ch-Ching!  :2popcorn:

It's a high-profit operation, so sure, I can cut a check for a pizza or five.

rather than Napoleon we have political assholery;

Are you referring to the Napoleon who was forced to abdicate twice and spend the rest of his short life in his final exile?  This is your hero?

Go back to your history books. The sort of leader you seek did just fine against the Bonus Army.

I'm not looking for a Prince, this isn't a monarchy, nor a dictatorship, but a Constitutional Republic.
That, intentionally, places constraint on Federal Power.
Imagine the actions and power you want in the hands of a Leftist President, and DO NOT establish that precedent.

If Portland, Seattle, and other urban centers wish to enable and foster the burning and looting of their cities, well, it's their city. If their governments won't do anything, nor request the help to do so, as is required, let it burn. If their State Governors refuse to request the Federal Aid to quell the riots, so be it. Enjoy being the boss of a burnt out ash heap.  If the people there won't demand better of their elected officials, live with the results.
That cowardice has a price.
Don't move here after, and don't expect a dime to rebuild.

But don't burn the Constitution with it by unilaterally imposing Federal will on the duly elected State and local governments.

It is not thinly veiled. It is open and declared, and that several times over...

---------------------------
Er............ no.
I'm referring to the Napoleon who rescued France from the cesspool
its revolutionaries created for that nation and set it on a 75 year term
as the dominant economic power on continental Europe till the emergence
of a Unified Germany in 1870.

The form of governance is totally and utterly beyond irrelevant.
And, so is the label of the leader, be it Dictator, Emperor, King, Potus, or Prince.
The issue/matter is the will of the Ruler to lead by protecting his subjects and their
interests; the unstated foundation behind Machiavelli's assertion.

Good news with the tsunami coming.  Yes, good news.  With Biden leading the Democommie ticket, with his tag team member being some lame individual, I don't care who it is, he drags them down and the Republicans end up with voting majorities in both houses and the WH.

Count on it!!!  It will be the thing, you know, the tsunami from hell.....LOL
