The best way to handle the data on "new cases" is to rip it up and throw it away. No data is better than distorted data that always supports bigger and more robust government.
We've had sufficient experience with this to know that just about the only half-way reliable data is COVID deaths, and that has its data-fudging issues as well.
I stopped reading the data. About the only thing I might be exposed to is some frowny-faced news reader with the latest number of new positive cases locally and how many local deaths. Even that I'm managing to avoid by waiting till about 15 minutes past the hour or 15 minutes to the hour and tuning in to the local weather report only. Basically, I'm bypassing the news because the endless coronavirus reports were making me nuts.
And I do believe those COVID-related death toll figures are bogus. How do we know the cause of death really was COVID? Since many of the fatalities involve people with underlying health issues, how do we know if they die, it wasn't because of those health issues and not COVID?
The media with its sensationalism and out-and-out lying has made us all suspicious about everything. We can no longer trust. And IMO, that lack of trust will ultimately doom their plans for complete domination. People aren't believing their bovine excrement anymore and they are going to resist any further attempts to limit their freedom.
