China says US orders it to close consulate in Houston to ‘protect American intellectual property’ after officials respond to fire

The U.S. has ordered China to close its consulate in Houston in what a Chinese official called an outrageous and unjustified move that will sabotage relations between the two countries.

Foreign ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin condemned the action, which comes at a time of rising tensions between the world’s two largest economies. He warned of firm countermeasures if the U.S. does not reverse its decision.

“The unilateral closure of China’s consulate general in Houston within a short period of time is an unprecedented escalation of its recent actions against China,” Wang said at a daily news briefing.

Besides its embassy in Beijing, the U.S. has five consulates in mainland China, according to its website. They are in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Wuhan and Shenyang.

The U.S. said in a brief statement that the consulate was ordered closed “to protect American intellectual property and American’s private information.” It did not provide any details.

“The United States will not tolerate the PRC’s violations of our sovereignty and intimidation of our people, just as we have not tolerated the PRC’s unfair trade practices, theft of American jobs, and other egregious behavior,” the statement from State Department spokesperson Morgan Ortagus said.

Well that'll complicate spying on one of the largest semiconductor companies in the world, Texas Instruments.
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

They were also stealing technology from the Texas Medical Center in Houston.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

On eviction day, Chinese consulate clears Montrose compound

Houston Chronicle by  Currie Engel July 24, 2020

Quote
Hours before their eviction deadline, Houston’s Chinese consulate Friday morning continued removing items from the Montrose location, clearing the compound they have occupied for more than four decades.

The Trump Adminstration ordered the closure on Wednesday, citing a need to protect American intellectual property and private information.. The consulate has until Friday afternoon to shut down operations.

The Chinese government threatened to retaliate and early Friday announced the closure of a U.S. consulate in Chengdu.

Around 8:30 a.m., a large white truck and a smaller UHaul lined Harold Street, parked outside of a side entrance of the Houston consulate. Very faint smoke appeared to be coming from the open side doors, where workers bustled back and forth.
