“Systemic racism has plagued all aspects of being Black in America,” Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) said Tuesday, citing an article reporting that nearly half of Blacks in Minnesota have applied for unemployment benefits during the coronavirus pandemic.

Omar made the comment in a tweet linking to a Star Tribune article titled, “Half of Black workers in Minnesota have lost work during pandemic”:
