I wish I had an alternative to Trump and Biden, but other than staying home, skipping the presidential race entirely or writing in my best friend's cat's name, there are none. I refuse to vote for one over the other because I don't think either is the right man for the presidency.  And I definitely refuse to vote for one over the other because someone tells me I have to.

@Applewood

Then you have nothing of value to offer.

And neither do Trump nor Biden, which is why I won't vote for either.

No, it's about who would be the best president to lead all of us -- who is best for America.  Again, neither Trump nor Biden fit the bill, IMHO.

Now be nice or Mod 3 will be smacking both of us around.

Applewood, consider this.
In 1800, Thomas Jefferson contested the Presidency w/John Adams.
In 2020, Buffoon Trump will contest the Presidency w/clown Bi-dodo.

Trump is not my ideal either, but have you ever heard the phrase "half a loaf is better than none"? With Biden not only will you get no bread, you will be delivered a leftist poison pill.

Mary's incessant, ridiculing downgrading of Donald's business successes is the dutiful love of a daughter for a deceased father — she seeks a victory for Fred Jr. in the fierce sibling rivalry with younger brother Donald that ever eluded Fred Jr. in life. Donald moved into the limelight of Fred Sr.'s favor that Fred Jr. angrily abandoned and repeatedly failed to win back. This battle protects her from disappointment and anger toward a father who failed her miserably, as she herself carefully documents. Donald, along with his entire family, is a lightning rod for raging emotions. This book could rightly be dedicated "For Dad."

Given Mary Trump's penchant for psychological diagnoses (Fred Sr. and Donald are both "narcissistic" and "sociopaths"), that clinical lens is absent toward her parents. "Dad had clearly shared in the wealth early in his life, but he had had nothing left to show for it by the time he was thirty. I have no idea what happened to his money."

At age two and a half, Mary watched in horror as her taunting father threatened to kill her sobbing mother with the rifle he was leveling at her. Despite her mother's phobia, he brought home a pet boa constrictor and kept it in the apartment. "Domestic abuse" is absent from Mary's consideration.

Or how about the concept of "enabler" for her mother? Fred Jr. was a deteriorating, recalcitrant alcoholic (his recurrent treatments paid for by Fred Sr.): "My father was still in the hospital [lobar pneumonia] on ... their fifth wedding anniversary. Undeterred by his poor health and worsening alcoholism, my mother sneaked a bottle of champagne and a couple of glasses into his room. Regardless of what was happening around them or what state her husband was in, they were determined to celebrate." Celebrate!

Although Mary Trump spent years attending family functions, playing at the Trump "house" as a young child; was sent to private boarding schools and high-end summer camps; and was included in endless special family celebrations dinners, there is rarely a hint of gratitude, pleasure, or enjoyment. These occasions have become her bêtes noires, choice opportunities to demonstrate Trump family dysfunction and personal slights. Yet she continued to participate as a teenager and young adult, when, if she was so displeased, she could have stopped.

Repeatedly she complains of not receiving the financial bounty of the Trumps. She even bemoaned the absence of her father's Jaguar, Mustang, fishing boats, and airplanes. For a woman purportedly writing a book devoid of financial considerations, she has penned a book riddled with them.

That may be one of the most ridiculous things you've insulted the intelligence of Briefers with this year.  That's not a minor feat.  Reading that has actually reduced the aggregate intelligence of the readers of this thread.

If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

I think I'm more depressed than angry.  That depression started with the complete lockdown back in March., then it got worse with the rioting, then the prospect of two lousy choices in November.  Sometimes I just have to shut off the tv and the computer and get away from all this chit for a while.  If I don't, I think it will all kill me before the virus does.

Well, I don't see Trump as even half a loaf, but as I've said all along, we all have the right to make our own choices and while I may disagree with your choice, I will respect your decision.

I just wish some here wouldn't try to beat me up for the choice I've made.

I'm depressed, too.  While my life's situation is just fine, it hurts to see people so willing to give up their personal freedoms and accept really shoddy justifications for it.  People who should be skeptical about the government's motivation are instead attacking fellow conservatives for "putting their lives at risk."  Otherwise intelligent people look at the adulterated "new case" data and, knowing it's fudged beyond recognition, still accept it.  I watched a Scientist I used to work with do that.  I proved to her the data is unusable, and yet she still believes in the mask and closing the country bullshit.

Her:  "What can it hurt?"
Me:  "You mean besides the breathing problems it causes?  How about being willing to wear the 21st Century equivalent of a yellow star on your chest?"

The nation was turned against itself so easily, I don't know if we can ever recover.  I was already on my way to hermit status before all this, and I don't see much reason not to go that route.

That would clearly be me,but I'm not running,so it will also clearly be SOMEONE ELSE.

We have three options. Vote for the Dim candidate,vote for the Republican candidate,or let everyone else decide for us.

I chose to vote for the best possible candidate. You choose to vote for fairy tales by sitting at  home and wishing while other people make decisions for you.

@sneakypete

You think I don't?  Actually, it seems to me  some of his supporters back in 2016 chose Trump based on his popularity.  Remember, he used to be on tv?    They were more interested in the flashy slogans, the razzle-dazzle of a media star.  Now I think many of them are still dazzled by him.  They look upon him as a savior -- one who will keep those evil Democrats from destroying America.  Or something.

Sorry if you are offended that I don't buy into his schtick.

@ Mod1, fair enough.
As you're a moderator, I will no longer use the the label cultist.
From me, an observation that is not a complaint.
Since my first day, this individual, Mr. Sneeky, has followed my
daily posts looking for a fight; more than a dozen times.
As I have no interest in him or his needs, I simply close my door.
Perhaps you would make note of this.
