We are the only ones that can change it.... don't use those companies... hard yes.. .impossible, no...
I like your thinking, but it is almost impossible. Here is my take in increasing difficulty
Facebook- Very intrustive, deep sixed long ago. Easy not to use, though you have to be griped at by family/friends for being isolated.
Google- Very much, everyone should do their best to use alternatives like Duck Duck Go whenever possible.
Now it gets tougher-
Twitter- In the age of by the minute news, being current is critical, and not letting your opponents have a competitive advantage. 25 years ago a news cycle was defined as 72 hours, now it is an hour or two. I know Partel is out there as an alternative, its okay, but really a David and Goliath situation.
Now the near impossible-
Amazon- Simply stated, Bezos has us and the country by the balls. As brick and mortar crumbles before our eyes, his monopoly has dangerously painted our retail economy into his lair and desires. You think buy direct online? Many of these are even subletting that function to this behmouth of unlimited power. There is a reason Bezos is the most powerful and wealthy man in the world. The world's first future Trillionaire will soon be the ulitmate puppeteer. And there won't be no stopping him until a Rockefeller, JP Morgan, Carnegie, Vanderbilt type of anti-trust congressional action. I am a free market economist, and I'd never dream of being this pro-anti trust, but we are seeing an exception. Even the Titans of the late 1800's early 1900's never welding this much leverage on society singularly.
