Don't fret though, all is saved I just checked programming and ......   They are in the middle of a Storage Wars Marathon.   :silly:

Storage Wars is just another 'fake' reality show.

Still pretty good. The characters are fun, (little Mary, Ivy, Dave, Barry, too) and the interplay between them makes the show.

Before A&E pulled the show, its prime-time viewership was up 4% from the same period in 2019

Ratings for A&E Network have plummeted since it canceled the hit police reality show “Live PD” on June 10, a sign of how much the network relies on law-enforcement programming.


Average prime-time viewership for A&E between June 11 and July 19 was 498,000 people, down 49% from the same period last year, according to data from Nielsen. In the key demographics of adults 18-49 and 25-54, the declines are 55% and 53%, respectively.

The show, which follows police on their rounds in multiple cities simultaneously, averaged about 1.9 million viewers for its Friday and Saturday night episodes, repeatedly re-aired on other days. It spawned several successful spinoff shows, also canceled.

A&E, co-owned by the Walt Disney Co. and Hearst Corp., dropped “Live PD” in the wake of the killing of George Floyd by a Minneapolis police officer. The death has sparked protests about police violence, a movement to defund the police and broader discussions about race and diversity.

Live PD (for those paying real attention) was a grad level course in "How Not to Act around Police--especially when you have been pulled over". 

Yes, I saw some of the behaviours there by police as possibly heavy handed, but considered they knew their area, and quite possibly the suspects involved. State and local laws set up what constitutes "probable cause" in their jurisdictions, and they see/smell/hear more than the camera can ever show, so they got benefit of the doubt.

A&E might tease the possibility of a return of the show...but it's not gonna happen.

And I know from being on the LivePD fan pages they want a return of the show...but NOT on A&E.

A&E used to have some good programming -- reflected what the initials stood for:  Arts & Entertainment.  Then it went the cheesy reality tv route. 

About the only reality show I liked was "Airline" --  a day in the life of Southwest employees at various hubs.  It was uplifting in a way and sometimes downright funny.
