NYT Accuses Tucker Carlson of ‘Nativist Smears’ as It Continues to Employ Individuals with History of Racist Statements

The New York Times on Wednesday took issue with Fox News’s Tucker Carlson over his criticisms of far-left lawmakers, accusing him of unleashing “nativist smears.” The attempted lecture comes as the Times continues to employ several individuals — from editors to fact-checkers — who have made waves with racist utterances of their own.

The Times took specific issue with Carlson’s recent critiques of Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) after the conservative firebrand suggested that she and many of those within her caucus “actually hate America.” He renewed those criticisms on Tuesday night.

“There are many of us here who do like this country,” Carlson said, emphasizing that “we live here.”

“We don’t want to destroy it. We have every right to fight to preserve our nation and our heritage and our culture,” he said.

“And when vandals like Tammy Duckworth and Ilhan Omar tell us that we’re not allowed to question their patriotism, even as they scream about how horrible America is, we have every right to laugh in their faces, and we should,” Carlson added.

The Times described Carlson’s defense of American patriotism as “nativist attacks on Democratic women of color,” contending that the “attacks” are “hardly new” for Carlson and President Trump.

Nativist? I thought the Times was accusing Tucker of saying mean things about American Indians.    I hate this newly invented "woke" terminology (including "woke").

Agreed.  We should be encouraging emigration.  It's best for the nation for those who cannot abide what we've created here to go some place else. We have a process to follow to effect political change,  and it's not rule by the mob.

Tucker does outstanding work though I would prefer a more conservative version. He used to

We have the levels of surveillance, no real presumption of privacy, monitored transactions, video everywhere, and are only a few mouse clicks from being 'nonpersons'. People put their life on their phone, where it can be monitored, even edited without their knowledge.
If someone could hack your phone, how long until the State could, with all its resources, (or someone else) place incriminating 'evidence' on it. Same, even, with your computer?

When the depredations of 1984 were once considered impossible fantasy in the West, look at where we are now. Only cash money away from total surveillance.
