Key Point: The Green Berets have a more practical skillset than long-distance deadliness, too.
 

A two-man Green Beret sniper team emerged victorious at the elite U.S. Army Special Operations Command International Sniper Competition at the end of March 2018 distinguishing themselves as among the most lethal sharpshooters in the special operations community.

Master Sgt. David and Sgt. 1st Class Cuong from the 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), whose full names were withheld by officials given the sensitive nature of their assignment, bested dozens of snipers in the 22 events spread over five days of grueling precision fire challenges — even after a rocky start.

On a very lucky day.

Teams competed with sniper systems of 7.62 and 5.56mm, carbines and pistols of various calibers. Several of the sniper rifle systems used in the competition are owned by the soldiers.

None of those weapons would be very useful for a "Two Mile" shot.

There currently is only one "unnamed" Canadian sniper credited with an over two Mile kill.

In mid-2017 it was reported that an unnamed Canadian special forces operator, based in Iraq, had set a new record of 3,540 m (3,871 yd), beating the record previously held by an Australian sniper (also unnamed) at 2,815 m (3,079 yd)

And he used a McMillan Tac-50 with a Hornady A-MAX .50 cartridge.

Not really. The rifles and sighting equipment they use these days compare to the sniper rifles and optics of the
60's and 70's do to the Revolutionary War muskets.

Granted,even with those advantages,they aren't going to making those shots in a wind storm.

None of those weapons would be very useful for a "Two Mile" shot.

Nor would they be used by a sniper team. Support troops to protect the sniper team maybe,but they are NOT sniper rifles.
