HOUSTON - Two area artists are putting together a mural to honor Houston-native Vanessa Guillen.
Guillen was an Army soldier went missing in April and started a huge campaign to find her. Her family said Wednesday her body was found and the suspect who killed her killed himself.
Wednesday, Houston artists Donkeeboy (Alex Roman Jr.) and Donkeemom began painting the mural in South Houston at Taqueria Del Sol, near Hobby Airport.
Guillen went to Cesar Chavez High School, which is two miles from the mural.
Donkeeboy was given approval from Guillen's family on the mural. His mother, Donkeemom (Sylvia Roman), is helping to paint the mural with students from Break Free Houston Art School.
