At least nine people — including four kids — were killed and 51 others wounded in shootings in Chicago this weekend, according to reports.

Among the four children killed was 3-year-old Mekay James, who was fatally struck in the back Saturday at around 6:30 p.m. in Austin, on the city’s West Side, local outlets reported.

The tot died after someone in a blue Honda pulled up behind the black SUV the boy’s 27-year-old father was driving and fired several rounds, according to The Chicago Sun-Times.

There were mass shootings or lone shooting incidents in many cities across the country over the weekend. Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Philadelphia all had numerous shooting incidents some of which were mass shootings.
I went to those cities's web as I do on a daily basis. This scenario is repeated over and over.
NONE!!! of the shootings and killings over the weekend involved the police shooting civilians.
They were all civilians doing the shooting and civilians being the victims.
I don't think the average citizen has any idea of how much carnage goes on in the big cities daily.

City shootings piled up at a rate of one per hour on Saturday — with more gunplay on Sunday — as an NYPD chief warned that hundreds of gun-possession defendants have been allowed to prowl Gotham thanks to coronavirus-closed courts.

“We have over 1,000 people that have been indicted on a gun-possession charge, where the cases are open, and they are walking around the streets of New York today,” Chief of Crime Control Strategies Michael LiPetri told The Post.

That tally doesn’t include about 800 additional defendants who are charged with illegally packing heat but have yet to be formally indicted when the courts ground to a halt, LiPetri said. ...

One man was killed and at least 17 other people injured in 13 unrelated shootings across the Big Apple during a troubling 12-hour span, police said Saturday.

The mayhem touched every borough except Staten Island, beginning at around 9 p.m. Friday in the Bronx, when someone fired a bullet that went through Airleyda Lora’s Morrisania apartment window, striking her refrigerator door, according to police sources.
