Student senate will vote on whether to impeach new student body president

Florida State University's student government tapped a student who called an Israeli a "stupid Jew," among other anti-Semitic online remarks, to replace as president a member they ousted for expressing his Catholic beliefs in leaked private messages.

FSU's student senate impeached president Jack Denton for expressing Catholic teaching on abortion and transgenderism in conversations on the group messaging app GroupMe. The student government appointed Ahmad Daraldik, who created a website calling Israel's existence a continuation of the Holocaust, to take his place as student senate president.

Fury at Florida State University After New Student Senate President’s Antisemitic Statements Revealed

Outrage has erupted at Florida State University after the new Student Senate president was found to have made racist and antisemitic statements online, including comparing Israel to Nazi Germany.

Ahmad Daraldik — who is Palestinian-American — recently replaced a previous president of the Student Senate who was expelled for expressing conservative Catholic views.

It was later discovered that Daraldik had made numerous statements online such as “stupid Jew” and “f**k Israel.”

A petition calling for his removal states that Daraldik “made antisemitic remarks in multiple social media posts.”

Whether the student senate acts against or for Daraldik's antisemitism remains to be seen, AFAIK.

Florida State University's student senate narrowly voted to keep its president despite his history of anti-Semitic comments.

The student senate voted 19-16 to keep Daraldik as president. The vote came less than two weeks after the senate impeached Denton for expressing Catholic teaching on abortion and transgenderism in a private GroupMe chat with fellow Catholic students. Denton is filing an appeal to FSU's Supreme Court over his removal from the leadership role with the help of the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), a religious liberty law firm.

I would be lying if I said I was surprised that this anti-Semite was retained. Academia - students, faculty, and adminicrats - are a breeding ground for aggressive antisemitism.
