Demonstrators painted “All Black Lives Matter†along a stretch of Hollywood Boulevard on Saturday.
“All Black Lives Matter†was painted in a rainbow of colors across from the Dolby Theatre to honor black LGBTQ community members during the 50th anniversary of the first Pride celebration. The LA Pride march and festival was supposed to occur Sunday but was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The phrase was painted in various colors to represent the diversity of the LGBTQ community including colors in the Rainbow flag and Transgender Pride Flag, CBS Los Angeles reported.
The street was painted ahead of Sunday morning’s All Black Lives Matter march, and will act as the march’s starting point. A Black Advisory Board made up of black LGBTQ leaders and organizations organized the protest, the Los Angeles Times reported.
