Black Lives Matter protesters have remained on the streets in downtown Seattle to maintain a presence, as they continue to chant outside the city hall and the boarded-up police precinct over the course of several days, making demands for reforms on city leaders.

“Free Capital Hill,” the movement dominating a certain area of Seattle, published a list of demands Tuesday on behalf of “black voices” for the city to make.

The demands are broken into four categories, relating to economics, education, health, and the justice system.

The most notable demand is to abolish the Seattle Police Department, which has been echoed in other cities across America.

The Minneapolis City Council recently voted to overhaul its police department after the death of George Floyd, a black man, who died in police custody at the hands of a white police officer who has been charged with second-degree murder.

“The Seattle Police Department and attached court system are beyond reform. We do not request reform, we demand abolition,” the group posted in a blog on medium.com. The group noted ICE should also be dismantled within the city.

If they only want Black doctors treating them....so be it.

We should ask them if  they should have their own drinking fountains and schools too.   /s

There must be something wrong with me. I never cared that the neurosurgeon who did my brain surgery was Hispanic. I never cared that one of the doctors who did the chemo injections for my daughter was Chinese. I never cared that the cardiologists who did surgeries on me are Chinese.

Stupid racist suspicion like this is going to cause people's deaths.

Back in my childhood, our movie theatre was segregated with balcony for blacks, and lower level for whites.  At about age 8 or 9, I can remember trying to get a different vantage and went upstairs.  After 5 minutes me and my friends were ran off by ushers. 

It was not a one way street.

Okay, I see your point. In my class the dropout rate was pretty significant after the first quarter. I’m assuming if what you say is true, no amount of extra advantage getting someone in can make up for the rigors of the material. Unless the professors are applying a curve.

They are currently trying to force Professors (in real schools like Medical and Engineering) to give extra points to POC.

I would prefer that my surgeon or the person who designed the bridge I'm driving on didn't get failing grades bumped up to passing, simply due to his skin tone.
