Texas cops salute George Floyd's gold coffin as it's carried to front of Fountain of Praise church for private ceremony

So cops all over the country are kneeling and saluting this newest martyr?

May I remind everyone that He, George Floyd held a gun to the belly of a pregnant woman while his 'friends' ransacked and robbed her in her own home?!

If anyone is waiting for me to say: "Poor George, He didn't deserve to die!" ..

I say: "It should have happened when he threatened the life of the pregnant woman and child!"

Quote
The service will be held for Floyd at the Fountain of Praise Church at 11am local time, where family and friends will pay their final respects.

Floyd's body will then be carried home in a horse-drawn carriage and laid to rest next to his mother at the Houston Memorial Gardens in Pearland.

Put him in the ground already I am sick of hearing about him...now I see where a lot of that GoFundMe money is going...I doubt Floyd's daughter will never see a cent of it.

Our hospital sent a email out expressing sympathy and outrage over George Floyd. It’s not going over very well with the staff

I’ve always said, funerals were for the living. And man oh man is this crowd ever living. You’d think a president died.

Looks like Floyd’s killing was American Marxism’s ticket to the big times. Pull your seat belts tighter, folks. The ride’s gonna get even bumpier from here.

BTW,if you have no contacts with non-media blacks,do NOT believe the media mantra being presented. I have personally seen some "regular, unleaded blacks" getting pretty freaking steamed at this dog and pony show the media is putting on for the DNC.

Imagine for a minute that you are a working class black man or woman doing the best you can do to raise your children to be respectful,hard-working and productive members of society in a community that,in general, celebrates the thug lifestyle, and then you have the national media and the most prominent "talking heads" in the country,as well as movie stars, music stars, and other celebrities just flat out rub your face in the horseshit we see on tv,making fools out of you in the eyes of your children.

Are YOU going to be amused?

I see a backlash developing. This could easily explode in the Dims faces and the backlash could hurt them. It would have already happened if they left didn't completely control the media, but these people are starting to get pissed about the rich white and black media telling the world what THEY think without ever asking them or giving them or giving them a platform to air their views.

As much as it pisses US off to watch and hear this, stop for a minute and imagine you are a hard-working honest black citizen trying to raise your children right and teach them standards and manners in THAT atmosphere.

Maybe I am just an optimist and letting that influence what I am seeing and hearing, but I think some people are going to get a surprise before long.

@Right_in_Virginia

What a bunch of slackers! Where were the hydraulics and the boom boxes blasting gangsta rap in that WHITE coffin carriage?

No honkies in police uniforms pulling the carriage instead of horses, while some rapper cracked the whip to make them pull harder?

No backup dancers?

No Ho's doing the Ho Strut?

No crackas being marched down the street by the tune of cracking whips?

We KNOW there was money available because "The Rev",Al Sharpton popped up again.

No, @sneakypete we understand. We understand that Leftists have no understanding of the meaning of words.

We’re all trying to grapple with why Floyd would be treated as a martyr? A martyr is someone killed for their religious or other beliefs. Can anyone recite Floyd’s beliefs?

you see moron-minded cops saluting the coffin of a convicted felon who died after resisting arrest (another one).   Pinch me, I must be having a very long nightmare.

I’m sorry, I don’t feel like laughing this morning.

If you are an American, if you believe in America, see this 14 minutes of Tucker Carlson. And then weep with me.

Because change has come quickly into your life in America, while our leaders dither and kneel and ask for forgiveness before the mob, to their everlasting shame.

I don't recognize this country anymore.

This moment in history should be remembered as the time when America’s spirit broke. It wasn’t the civil war that broke us—as bad as that was, the wounds healed—it is today’s modern racial divide that is tearing us apart from within; and Republicans are doing nothing to help us while democrats are seizing the moment.

If you served in the armed forces, or lost loved ones in combat, or worked your fingers to the bone to make life better for your family, if you played by the rules and paid your taxes, or if you volunteered your time in community service, or put your hand over your heart and took the oath of American citizenship and cried tears of joy—as I did; know that today is different.

Know that your sacrifices meant nothing, mean nothing to the politicians that are supposed to be representing us in this representative republic.

It won't be my friend, because it is not.

To paraphrase W's finest moment:  "And soon every animal who burns our country and tramples our heritage will hear from ALL of soon!".    We're not broken @aligncare  .... we're lining up to roll.

In the meantime, here are just two small examples of the American spirit and the American heart .... that hopefully will lift your spirits a little bit.   happy77

@Right_in_Virginia

Thank you RIV. That was good for me to see and hear the passion in his voice. I was always taught to respect the men (all burly men back then when physical standards were the norm) and women who put on the police uniforms.

Here comes the but...I have trouble seeing the end of the racial divide now. As a country we’ve been working on it for 155 years! We had some hope when major civil rights legislation passed in the 1950’s. I had hope when the 60’s peace movement preached love for all mankind, and even felt optimistic when I worked with a wonderful charismatic black airman at Bien Hoa AFB in Vietnam who tried to bring black and white airmen together. But, the events of the last two weeks had a toll on me. I think my optimism is gone. The future is cloudy in my mind.

Just give me a little time, though. I’m sure I’ll turn it around. Maybe.

What follows is going to be controversial.
The mods may even delete it.

So... America's "spirit" is broken by a (modern) "racial divide" that is tearing us apart...?

Let's break that down.

There IS a "racial divide", but it's no more modern than say, 1619 (to steal a date from the loathsome New York Times).
The people who were imported from Africa back then became the nascent "divide" that grew and continues to fester from that year right to this day. But...

It was ALWAYS there, there's nothing modern or recent about it, and it is not going to "go away", regardless of what politicians of any persuasion try to do about it.

It's just... there.
Because... it's natural for it to be there.
"The divide" will ALWAYS have to be managed and regulated and restrained because people... when left to their own designs and desires... will actively seek to separate themselves from others who they perceive are not "like" themselves.
This is as natural as "birds of a feather".
It is just "the way things are". No written law, no words on paper, are ever going to alter this.

Of course, particularly since the early 1960's, we've tried to force people to behave in a manner that runs against their nature.
Forced busing.
Quotas (Dr. Bakke ended that).
Affirmative Action.
Racial preferences (Sharon Taxman could have ended that, but she took their money instead and withdrew her case).

Sixty years, and what's changed?
After trillions spent for a "war on poverty", a cop makes a fatal error, and it's "war" all over again, in the streets.
What will it take to end...?
What will it take to placate them?
You know the answer as well as I do:
Nothing.
The more one side gives, the more the other side will demand.

So... why is our spirit broken?
It shouldn't be broken for lack of trying.
We've tried enough.
No more.

As I wrote this reply, I did so in a text editor and saved it with a name:
"The divide that can't be bridged".
And that's where we are.
There's little point in being upset because we finally realize that diversity IS NOT "our strength", but rather a scythe that sweeps to weaken and destroy us.
We were naive enough to swallow that lie, and now we're paying the price.

So... it's time to STOP "paying", and write off this phony social debt that others claim we owe them. "We" owe "them" nothing.
It's time to recognize our own "identity", and be unafraid by so doing.
It's time to acknowledge that our lives and culture matter, for ours is the culture that built the country.

No, aligncare.

You should be angry.

@Fishrrman

I agree with your premise. I have sometimes thought privately that we should have picked our own damn cotton and perhaps these social problems could have been avoided. But, as a realist I think we’re well beyond the point of no return. We have no choice but to make this thing work. We either live together under a good framework, the constitution of the United States, or we submit to an uncertain future of segregation.

I’ve been searching for a place to mention a tangential point. I suppose this will have to do. It’s about jazz music and the fact that it was born in America. I love jazz and I don’t think jazz could have come together the way it did without three fundamental influences: European, African and Afro-Cuban. It’s more complex than that, but for this discussion it will do. Without African influences brought to America with the slave trade, the world may never have experienced jazz as we know it today. And that is unimaginable to me.
