Outlets falsely insinuate Trump hoped George Floyd was happy about jobs report 'from heaven'

Several news outlets and journalists falsely insinuated that President Trump hoped George Floyd was happy about the improved jobs numbers "from heaven."
Articles from Newsweek, Bloomberg, the New York Daily News, and Business Insider all implied the former meaning. A tweet from Newsweek read, "Donald Trump says economic growth is a solution to systematic racism calling surprising jobs news a 'great day' for George Floyd." The New York Daily News wrote, "Trump says George Floyd is 'looking down' from heaven because of the marginal unemployment drop."
Journalists from CNN, Politico, and the New York Times implied the same in personal tweets. HLN host S.E. Cupp, reacting to the comments, tweeted: "This man is sick. Sick in the head and in the heart."
Many failed to quote the president in a way that provided appropriate context — the president was referring more broadly to the racial justice movement taking place in the United States.
"Equal justice under the law must mean that every American receives equal treatment in every encounter with law enforcement, regardless of race, color, gender, or creed," Trump said in his full remarks. "They have to receive fair treatment from law enforcement. They have to receive it. We all saw what happened last week. We can’t let that happen. Hopefully, George is looking down right now and saying, 'This is a great thing that’s happening for our country.' It's a great day for him. It’s a great day for everybody. This is a great day for everybody. This is a great, great day in terms of equality. It’s really what our Constitution requires, and it’s what our country is all about."
