JC Penney announces 154 stores set to close this summer. Here’s a map.

Quote
Bankrupted J.C. Penney announced Thursday the list of the 154 stores it plans to close this summer, with store closing sales kicking off June 12.

It said it will announce additional closures in the coming weeks.

...

Penney said it expects the store closing sales to last anywhere from 10 to 16 weeks.

Glad to see that "my" JCP will stay open.

For now.  Almost guaranteed there will be more closures.

In PA, two of the closures will be in malls that have been struggling for some time.  They both lost Sears last year; now Penneys.  This is a disaster.

My guess might be 12' x 12' SROs,

or bachelor pads

Cities would need to approve zoning/use changes.

The parents would need to throw their offspring out from their basements.

The residents could hold Antifa meetings, in the clubhouse.

The units could have racks for skateboards, and bicycles.

The JCP nearest the home of a friend will be closing. We were talking about how it's not always possible to buy everything online, you have to try things on.  Between the Macy's and JCPs closing, it's getting hard for those of us not in urban areas to buy clothing, shoes, etc.

I'm afraid we all are going to have to buy online and take our chances, unfortunately.    Brick and mortar stores are dying off.

I'm just mad that Penneys, like Sears, did the damage to themselves.
