Same year as the Detroit riots.
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

The US in 1967: Watts Riots two years before in 1965.  And next year in 1968 assassination of Robert Kennedy, assasination of MLK, riots at dem convention in Chicago. Vietnam roaring, and LBJ declined to reun.

Nixon won the 1968 election on Law & Order, and Silent majority

Two years later  1969 Woodstock

1972 Nixon won on Law & Order, and Silent majority.

Enjoy the music.

Grace Slick had some tubes. Fellow Airplane-co-founder vocalist Marty Balin as well.

Spectacle: Elvis Costello with: Norah Jones, Kris Kristofferson, John Mellencamp, Rosanne Cash Pt1

The connection to 1967 Monterey Pop Festival?

Norah Jones' father was a big hit at Monterey, named Ravi Shankar. Kris Kristofferson's song was big hit for Janis Joplin
