Well,a case can be made that with absentee ballots they are only mailed out to registered voters, and can be kept track of via the mailing address.
@sneakypete That much is true - As a matter of fact, they would only send that ballot to my registered address. I had asked for a special dispensation in that regard, wanting the ballot sent to my mother's house as a convenience and a safety... I could not get to the mailbox, and with caretakers only coming as needed, maybe every couple weeks, my mail would languish in the box... Even longer than that, as I really had no need for paper mail (geek, everything electronic), so everyone had a tendency for forget it....
So my mother's box, which was collected daily, was an obvious thing to do, but they denied it outright. They would send the ballot ONLY to the registered address.
AFAIK,there are NO ID or address conditions attached to mail-in votes.
Primarily because the Dims won't allow them.
I don't know that one way or the other... But that may be the thing.
It is also surprising that they are not pushing for electronic ballots... Voting online.
