25-year-old ballistic-missile submarine USS Maine returns to service

The U.S. Navy released a statement on Wednesday saying that the Ohio-class ballistic-missile submarine USS Maine (SSBN 741) officially returned to strategic service.
Maine’s keel was laid July 3, 1990, she was christened July 16, 1994, and was commissioned in Kittery, Maine July 29, 1995.
The USS Ohio completed three years of engineered refueling overhaul, estimated to extend the life of the ship by 20 years, the Navy announced.
