Earlier on Tuesday, Adm. Brett Giroir, the Assistant Health and Human Services Secretary in charge of testing, told a Senate committee, "We project that our nation will be capable of performing at least 40 to 50 million tests per month if needed at that time."

Jake Tapper, host of "The Lead," asked Pelosi if she was "satisfied by the administration's pledge...of 40 to 50 million tests a month, if necessary, by September?"

"No," Pelosi responded:

You have to do much more than that. And I think that they know that. They -- it has to be at least double that, maybe two-and-a-half times that. ...

Pelosi is utterly clueless.  I have said all along that the CDC, NIH and whoever have dragged their feet to develop accurate tests and to get them distributed.  But 50 - 60 million not being enough is idiotic.  We have only 330 million people, and if you largely exclude children, we only have about 250 million requiring tests.  By September, which is what the admiral was talking about, we will hav plenty of tests, but it shouldn't have taken that long.
