Same thing in Colorado right now.  Can't go grab a bite to eat unless you want to go through the drive thru and eat in your car in the parking lot.  But the weed shops are still open and doing a booming business.

Reminds me of Laughlin, NV across the river from me.  Since the Casinos are all closed, the traffic cams show almost no traffic on Casino Dr.  There are two establishments open:  A convenience store and the MJ dispensary.  I think In-N-Out may have opened the drive through.  Laughlin had one real grocery store, but it's closed because the Vegas-based company stopped delivering.  Which, BTW, makes no sense because the customers are there asking them to take their money, and fuel costs are at a ten-year low.

Chicago/Cook County politics dictates everything in the state.  Trust me; people in Peoria, Decatur, Champaign, LaSalle/Peru, Moline and all the black dirt communities of the state are a breed apart from Chicago-metro.  When Governor Rauner defeated Pat Quinn in 2014, it took 4 days to certify the vote.  This, despite Rauner carrying 103 counties of 104.  The one county he failed to carry?  Cook County.

A text book model as to why our Electoral College is so brilliant.  The downstaters here are enslaved politically by Chicago/Cook County.  If the State had the equivalent of the EC, that stranglehold goes way.

My Governor got reelected in 2018, so he's term-limited, after we put up with another 3 years of the RINO.  He did not cover himself in glory the way he shut down the whole State at the demand of The Peoples Republics of Maricopa and Pima.

The only saving grace about the state that @Polly Ticks and I call home having a Deep Blue Progressive (Idiot) Governor...is that there is a IIRC veto proof majority in the House and Senate and the AG is a Republican as well.

The real downside is he got elected to his first term in 2018 as well.

That's the question everyone on the side of Panic Porn and Lock Down Inc doesn't want to answer regardless of the state they are in.

My wife and I both got Flu shots this year as well as my son.  She still got Influenza A in late February.  Doc told her that you can still get it despite the vaccine it just helps to lessen the symptoms.

Stuff like that is why the sudden call to lock down the country until a vaccine is found for the Wuhan Virus makes absolutely no sense.  There's no medical reasoning behind it.
