NBC admits Chuck Todd's 'Meet the Press' deceptively edited Barr remarks on Flynn

NBC News' Chuck Todd aired a deceptively edited clip of Attorney General Bill Barr discussing the Michael Flynn case during his "Meet the Press" broadcast on Sunday, prompting the network to concede the mistake hours later -- but there is still no word on whether Todd will apologize on-air.

Asked by CBS News' Catherine Herridge how history would judge the DOJ's decision to move to dismiss the Flynn case, Barr initially responded, laughing: "Well, history is written by the winners, so it largely depends on who's writing the history."

After the brief clip aired, Todd remarked that he was "struck by the cynicism of the answer -- it's a correct answer, but he's the attorney general. He didn't make the case that he was upholding the rule of law. He was almost admitting that, yeah, this was a political job."

In the full clip, which the NBC show did not air, Barr immediately went on to state explicitly that, in fact, he felt the Flynn decision upheld the rule of law.

Is it really too much to ask that the media report a quote, accurately? Apparently it is for NBC. On Meet the Press Sunday, NBC political director and MTP host Chuck Todd cut short a clip of Attorney General William Barr defending the DOJ’s decision to dismiss the Michael Flynn case in a CBS interview. After Todd edited the clip to take out crucial context, he absurdly proceeded to bash Barr’s truncated comments with his panel.

CHUCK TODD: You brought up Bill Barr. Peggy Noonan, I want you to listen to this Bill Barr answer to a question about what will history say about this. Wait until you hear this answer. Take a listen.

CBS'S HERRIDGE: When history looks back on this decision, how do you think it will be written?

BARR: Well, history is written by the winners so it largely depends on who's writing the history.

These shows have decided they can make due playing to their limited viewership. Chuck and the gang have no intention of actually informing them, as long as they continue to show up each airing to have their biases confirmed & derangement satiated.

I might add well deserved mistrust as it turns out.

Without contention, the MSM today is an unpaid board member of the DNC.
They are the propaganda arm of the Democrat Party. "News" has nothing to do with what their agenda is.
Their agenda is in all cases about furthering the Leftist cause.
Anything positive to Democrats is front page. Anything negative to their cause is either not reported or it is buried on page 25.
